Airport Work Continues Ahead of Schedule
From WJHG:
The airport relocation project is progressing despite the legal battles it’s facing. Several groups are trying to halt construction at the West Bay airport site because of concerns of harming the surrounding wetlands.
While the attorneys wage this battle in the courts over the coming weeks, work continues on the site.
Lately though, its not been the federal courts which have stopped the three-hundred-thirty million dollar project, its been mother nature.
But according to airport officials they are actually making good progress despite all the recent heavy rain. They say the project is a little ahead of schedule and might have this portion of the project finished about four or five months before the scheduled completion date .
The entire airport is expected to be up and running by 2010.
