Five days and counting!

In five days my hubby and I will be heading to the beach. We were going to get to come in a day early on Friday instead but the man we rent from called me this afternoon saying his son wanted to come in Wednesday of this week and stay until Saturday morning. Rats. That sure burst my bubble. And it is a act of congress to get my husband up and going. I can never get him out the door until around 7:30 or 7:45. And it is because he stays up really late. What can I do to get him up around 6:30 or 6:45 and out the door? Any suggestions?

Mrs Peel will become famous soon enough
Maybe you could go ahead & arrive on Friday as originally planned and just stay one night at a motel near the beach. There's a Comfort Suites on Beckrich Rd. just north of the Edgewater Shoppes or the Holiday Inn Sunspree that's on the beach. If you have a AAA card, you might get a reasonable rate. That way, you're already there & can hang out on the beach or at Schooners or Pier Park until your condo is ready.

I wish. I tried to talk him into going back to Mobile for Friday night like last year but he wants to have the day Friday to rest so we can get going Saturday. I guarantee you he will still try to delay leaving early.

Maybe you can "accidently" set the alarm too early Saturday morning & then go ahead & get up; making a lot of noise when you do. Try humming a happy tune off-key as you walk in & out of the bedroom. I'm assuming your hubby won't be reading this!

Good suggestion. I will be setting our alarm clock to get up fairly early. I have to so I can get myself ready. I can't just slap on some clothes and deodorant and run a brush through my hair and out the door I go. I have to wash my face and put my makeup on. That takes about 20 minutes. I've told him I want to be on the road way before 7:30. He said ok. But he stays up too late.

I know and I agree with you. But after being with this man for 17 years, I've learned he is a night owl.

If you're all packed & ready to go, maybe you can sort of pour him into the passenger seat and you drive the first leg of the trip while he sleeps. Where there's a will, there's a way! Good luck! I know you'll have a great time!

We are still here at home. Have nothing in the trunk yet. Doing one more load of laundry as some things need to go in the one suitcase still. Had to hit the bank today also. So we will not be leaving until in the morning. He didn't come to bed until around 3:00 a.m. this morning. So there is no way we could have gotten away this morning. Am going to load the car up this afternoon.
