Hey guys! I can't believe 2009 is just days away. I know of a couple of really cool places to be spending New Years that didn't quite make the list. First, I have to say Latitudes is going to be pretty rockin' for those whose Christmas shopping bills may have eaten a bit much into there drinkin' fund for New Years Eve. Keep in mind that New Years falls on a Wednesday night, the same night as Latitudes bar wars and I can confirm that Bar Wars will go on as normally scheduled. This means CHEAP drinks. And, it's stumbling distance from the chateau motel (or maybe just a really comfortable sand dune).
The second is a place that I've come to REALLY like over the past year. It's definitely a place to check out while in Panama City Beach. Originally known as Katmandu's for the longest time, this place is now known as "The Buoy Bar at Katmandu's" ... or as my friends and I affectionately call the place "Katmanbuoy." Alan, Amber, and Velda are a kick *** barstaff. They are going to have Kareoke, prizes and so much more. The Buoy is located 3 miles east of Pier Park, right near where Middle Beach and Front Beach meet. More specifically, at the intersection of Azalea & Middle Beach. Check this out! You'll dig it!! Also want to add that Club La Vela has a really cool party going on and if you are a fan of live rock, you definitely need to check out Hidden Element in the Rock Arena. If fact, if you go to the 97x VIP Zone, you can win tickets to get into La Vela for free to see these guys. Enter the VIP Code "Hidden Element" to score 100 bones. They put on an awesome show! Just so you guys know, I'm still undecided as to where I'll be. There's just so many great places to be this year. |

We ended up getting a corner condo at the Calypso for the night, right beside Pier Park. Their fireworks were literally exploding about 100 feet from us and we are on the 19th floor, so we had a great view. Other than that, I was really disappointed at how small the beach ball looked that was dropping at Pier Park. I'll see if any of the pics came out later and I'll post them up.
