Perfect Reason to never move down south
You can be stuck like me. Can't find a job, my AC went out last night, it'll be Monday before they can come check it out, Tuesday before they can possibly do anything (if I have enough money to pay them to fix it). I have fans, but my power just went out too (thank gosh for laptops and Alltel's wireless internet). Today's high is 105* with the heat index getting up to 115*, and it isn't suppose to drop below 100 for the next 7 days. I'm afraid to drive anywhere b/c with my luck right now, ah I don't even want to jinx myself. Haha! For once I can say I wish I lived up north. If it wasn't so miserable outside I'd go jump in a pool somewhere or go lay out on the beach and enjoy the breeze, but you can't even do that it's so hot outside! Ah I gotta find some humor in it I guess.
So, hows it going for the rest of you guys? ![]() Edit: On a more positive note, post number 900 right here! Woot! Last edited by idrivefast22; June-20th,2009 at 08:46 AM. Reason: Post #900 |

That's what I love about the South; screw everything about cool, bland, Yankee Land.
Well, I'm living in England - the hottest it gets here is about 85F and everyone in this country acts like it is a "Heat Wave". The beaches are all brown and pebbly; the waters are grey and cold. The food is about as tasty as white bread dipped in salt & rubbed with vinegar. THEY DRIVE ON THE WRONG SIDE! Everything is hella-expensive thanks to their Pound. Hell, I could go on...they do have their good points. History, beautiful landscapes, architecture.... But all that included, I still miss my home (GEORGIA) and I miss my summer trips to PCB! Luckily, I'll be there this end of July-mid August

Thank goodness for Air Conditioning! (no offense idrivefast!)
Beach is packed today and I'm actually glad I'm inside cos it' so HOT! Days like today make me appreciate John Gorrie. AC was invented just down the road in Apalachicola, FL. As the old adage goes, Necessity is the mother of invention. |

Ah, got the AC working fellas. It's finally a nice 83* in my house. I never knew it was invented right down the road, guess I learn something every day. The beach seems to be a little busier this year than last around this time. I know it's always busy with families, but we just seem to have that extra crowd of people here this year.
Rise Against, what took you to England if you don't mind me asking? I'd love to visit that place. Camping there would be a blast. Next time you head this way, bring some of those good looking Georgia 'peaches' down with you. Thats one thing I love about Georgia, good lawd at the ladies they produce. lol |

The US Government brought me over here
And yes, Georgia girls are the best....so long as they are Tech fans and not Dawg pukes.

Hey guys!Im a GA peach myself, and I must say, after going to Oklahoma, Tennessee and Mississippi, we are some of the finest women in the world! Florida coming in a close second, and those fake calie girls third, but then again, they are fake, so maybe they shouldnt even be in the runnin lol. So anyway, me and my baby peaches just took an overnight trip to PCB this weekend. We had a blast! There are so many things you can do on a budget there. You can go spend money on a hotel and spend all your time at the beach and still have an awesome time. There are a few really good gamerooms on Front beach road that can help you kill some extra time and some extra dimes. Everytime I go down there, I'm sad when it's over. But I cant get the hubby to move there, so I guess I'm stuck in good ole' south Georgia, nothing wrong with that though!

Mid 70s here today and this is about as good as we get apart from in a heatwave. I hate it here though as i get terrible seasonal allergies to the type of pollen in England.

Haha Trig I bet you would. No thanks buddy! However, as soon as I get a job down in PCB, you'll have a free place to stay when you come visit. Living the hour north is getting old. Had an interview down at Verizon Wireless yesterday, so hopefully that'll come through. Job market is tough atm though. I thought it wasn't at first, but dang was I wrong. All these hiring signs, yet no one is hiring? I don't get it. I've never had problems finding jobs before.
Good news is, its cooled down some, the crowds are slim atm, unless you're at Pier Park. LOL And I enjoyed some good ol Red Brick Pizza yesterday, so it isn't that bad down here. Enjoying it while I can though because July 4th is coming up which means traffic, and people not knowing where they are driving/how to drive. (Note to self, keep stress ball in the truck, and the window lock on) LOL |

10-4 Good buddy. I sure do appreciate it. So far I haven't heard anything about VW, and I was suppose to hear something today. If it comes down to it, I'll be out applying to flip burgers some where next week, and thats the last thing I want to do, but I gotta pay the bills so not much of a choice.
