"Remix” charity fashion show benefiting Goodwill Industries
Jennifer Hart, a student at Rutherford High School, is organizing a charity fashion show entitled “Remix” benefiting Goodwill Industries – Big Bend, Inc. It will be held at the Visual Art Center on Saturday, August 29th at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5.00.
Jennifer contacted Goodwill in the spring wanting to organize a fashion show benefiting Goodwill instead of working her required community service hours in the store”, said Brooke Lochore VP – Public Relations for Goodwill. “I was concerned that she didn’t realize the responsibility she was taking on. Goodwill has been amazed at her organizational skills, creative ideas, and communication. She has conducted this project with complete professionalism from the start. We are honored that Jennifer choose Goodwill for her community service hours and very proud of what she has accomplished. I can not wait to see the show this Saturday night.”
Miss Hart has recruited models featuring News 13 morning crew, Mike Cazalas from the News Herald, students from the four area Bay county high schools, international baccalaureate coordinator Mrs. Brown and other beloved teachers. All the outfits for the fashion show, head to toe, are from local Goodwill retail stores.
The mission of Goodwill Industries – Big Bend, Inc. is to provide job training, education and employment to people with disabilities and other barriers to employment, helping them to reach their fullest potential in supporting themselves and their families. Goodwill also provides barrier-free apartment complexes in which people with disabilities can live independently.
