Oil Has Stopped Flowing for Now

The oil flow has been stopped in the Gulf. Hopefully this will hold.

We are all so hopeful it's really stopped. It's tough not to be skeptical after everything that's happened..........

Still a lot of cleanup work to do as well, but stopping that leaking well is a HUGE first step to resolving this disaster.

Pelican Party on St. Andrews Bay

Upon hearing the news that the Oil Gusher has been stopped (at least for now), Panama City Beach Pelicans used a little creative thinking and came up with an alternative use for the booms strung out in the Bay...

There is no oil here! Let's bounce on this thing!
Who wants fresh fish!?

While we all hope the cap works lets also hope the huge amount of back-pressure doesn't cause a massive rupture through the sea floor. This would result in redefining the word "suck"!

Unfortunately I read on the web just now, an Associated Press article and video, that the well is leaking at the top and oil is seeping 2 miles away which means they may have to open the cap to keep oil and gas from escaping elsewhere. That sucks. That would mean back to square one.

Then I read somewhere else that it is leaking at the ocean floor and could cause the thing to collapse. Either one is bad enough.
