Fireworks on Historic Grand Lagoon for Labor Day Weekend!

I've heard that there will be an awesome fireworks show on Historic Grand Lagoon on Saturday, September 4th for Labor Day Weekend!

Boatyard has a little bit of information about it on their website... should be an awesome time! I haven't been to one of these fireworks displays over Grand Lagoon yet, but I've heard they're fantastic.

Anyone been?

We went and parked in the parking lot at Adventures at Sea by the Treasure Ship along with a few other vehicles. We had rented scooters and rode them down North Lagoon to see them. They started right at 9:00 but only lasted 10 minutes, I was not impressed with them. The ones we saw on Friday Night the 27th that were being shot off somewhere from near Laketown Wharf were better than that, they were fantastic. They were being seen behind Laketown Wharf and the sound of them exploding reverbed off of Laketown Wharf and the colors from them lighting up the building looked awesome. People were watching them from the balconies. Best fireworks display of all while we were there, lasted about 20 minutes, probably from Pineapple Willys.

I agree, ten minutes is not nearly enough. Too bad about that, but at least you got to see the fireworks on Friday night. Sounds like it was beautiful!

Friday night's fireworks were beautiful. The PCBDaily website showed from 9:00 to 10:00 for the ones at Grand Lagoon, so it surprised me when it ended 10 minutes later. Cannot imagine fireworks lasting an hour either though. Saw the ones from the city pier about 9 years ago, and that was from our townhouse in Inlet Beach. Wished we could have stayed to see the ones Sunday night.

Beachnut, you need to come up to Louisville in April for Thunder over Louisville. It's the largest fireworks display in North America every year. Usually shoot off around 60 tons worth with a crowd around 750,000. Oh yeah, there's an airshow all day leading up to the fireworks. Pretty cool to see an F-16 scream down the river just a couple hundred feet above your head, or even a B1 bomber or B2 Stealth bomber. You can check it out at thunderoverlouisville.org or find youtube videos on it I'm sure.

Wow, that is quite a crowd. I would love to see that. I could not get my husband near a place with that many people. Would love to see the military aircraft fly right over, especially a stealth bomber. Louisville is probably no farther than PC Beach to us I would not think. Thanks for including the link. Will check that out.
