St Andrew's State Park

This was an alligator that I found at the end of the trail. I left the video a little lengthy because, as you can see, the scenery is beautiful.

There is also a sand wall at the beach in St. Andrew's which is about 7 or 8 foot above the water level and it has these sharp edges with holes in it that larger crabs are inhabiting.

The water itself was amazing!

Also took in the great view from the trail at Gator Lake.

How cool. Thanks for sharing. We walked that trail around the lake I know a couple of years ago I am sure, I remember being able to walk down to small parts of the lake off the beaten path, I think there is a bridge or something that goes out over the lake, we never saw one gator, were hoping to, how lucky are you. We were beginning to think there were none in there.

Yeah beachnut, there is a bridge type walkway from the street to the lake itself. When I first got there I heard a splash off to the left side of the lake and then a bird squawking out as it was obviously becoming a meal. The map at the beginning of the video shows the paths that go to where I found that gator. I was there last year in September and saw 3 or 4 of them. This was probably around 10:am.

Bryan, St. Andrews State Park has a great public beach, very beautiful, you must go there.

Bob_stl, I think it was mid morning when we went there but we never were lucky enough to see a gator in the lake, we went to St. Andrews State Park several years in a row, all we saw were some egrets roosting on the vegetation surrounding the lake. Wouldn't want to see one eating a bird though.

it is so pretty there that 2 yrs ago I brought my high school senior there to take her senior picures, had her BFF with her and the photographer even took pics of them together, this might not like a big deal but we are from Indiana, everyone here thought they were beautiful, and very different, we have corn fields, hay and bean fields, the beach was awesome, only regret is that we didn't get any over by the jetties, did take them by the pier though.
