These are just some of the things I heard from the Local folks down there:

Boardwalk beach resort - They are tearing the other two hotels down after spring break and putting up condominiums. All they did from Last year was move the Howard Johnson sign to one of the other properties.

MAJOR RUMOR from a couple of Locals:
There are talks in the works to tear down BOTH Spinnaker and LaVela. They are making a push to get spring break out of Panama City Beach, but from the ones I talked to, they want the breakers to STAY as it their MAJOR source of income for the year.
I was also notified that some places down there ONLY OPEN for spring break.

Hmm... the first rumor about Boardwalk is true. Although I have a feeling they will still welcome Spring Breakers in the new condos... guess we'll have to wait and see.

Spinnaker and LaVela rumors have been floating around for years. We are the Advertising Agency for Spinnaker and Interactive Agency for Club La Vela and have not heard anything from owners or management that would suggest they will be sold or torn down anytime in the near future.

And the Tourist Development Council here loves Spring Break... as do almost all of the businesses on the beach. No worries about them driving SB out of PCB... it's here to stay.

Not really aware of any businesses that only open for Spring Break... although most of the businesses on the beach are only open for the Spring/Summer season. But that's not saying it isn't a possibility...

Even if Spinnakers and La Vela shut down, do you know how much of an opportunity that raises for anyone who wants to open up a club along the strip???? You can bring in a sh## load of money during spring break by opening up a super club along the strip. If the city allows new clubs to obtain a liquor license at a fairly reasonable price...the absence of La Vela and Spinnakers wouldn't effect Spring Break at all.

I agree, I say we get some $$ together and open one!!
