Help

Hey boys and girls. I'm heading to PCB from Australia next year for a few months during SB after mardi gras in NO. Just wondering if anyone can give me some hints and tips on finding a place to stay and getting a job.

Cheers

If you're just staying for a few months, you could probably easily get a job at a restaurant here, or as a bartender (if you have experience).

The season will be in full swing when you get here, so most of the jobs of that sort may be taken, but turnover rate is pretty high among the younger workers who party all night, and some of the more popular bars and clubs may need extra help depending on the crowds. Its best to get a local paper and ask around once you get here jobwise...too soon to tell right now.

As for places to stay short term, if you're lucky, you can stay with friends or co-workers you meet along the way. Its going to be hard to find an apartment that will rent to you here for less than a year's lease.

I recommend trying to stay with a co-worker who has an apartment and helping them out with their rent for those short months. A bonus would be if you two had the same work and party schedule. There are a lot of friendly people here, so you shouldn't have that much trouble.
