I give it another month or so before we hear who is going to be down at spring break this year.

I usually hit www.pollstar.com for concert announcements (usually hear before they even announce) and obviously club pages like www.lavela.com and www.spinnakerbeachclub.com

There is also www.hammerheadfreds.com as well. I'm sure there is more, but off the top of my head, those are a couple. Looks like Boardwalk is updating thier page too for Spring Break: www.springbreakhq.com

Oh yea, all of those sites are great!! And yes, Ive been in contact with eva, the VP of the boardwalk and they are updating their site, and it will be up and running soon! Should be exciting!! Cant wait to see who is on the bill for this years trip! I had a blast last year seing 50 cent at our hotel, and the Clips at lavela! Hope this year is even better! Any official event news will be posted on TripSmarter.Com... we are the interactive agency for Spinnaker and Club La Vela, so we'll know what's going on before it's even posted on their websites.

Plus, our PA, Megan, is in regular contact with all the other clubs & hotels like Sharky's, Hammerhead's, Latitude's, Boardwalk, Holiday Inn, etc.

Isn't Indiana Tech's spring break March 8 thru March 15??...if so, Jason, you'll be down there the same time as us...unless you're graduating, or are delaying spring break (or are having 2 spring breaks). PCB rocks.

I'm expecting LaVela to be demolished soon so they can fit in more condos.

Tourism drives condos, Having fun (Clubs,etc) drives Tourism.....so I doubt they will be tearing it down anytime soon. It makes too much money, as well as Spinnaker, Harpoon Harrys, etc.

Using your logic, I should expect the people that move into the condo's to frequent clubs like LaVela? I don't think so!!! The condo demographics don't appear to (in general) translate into the demographics of the clubs.

Those clubs might make money over spring break, but I don't think they take in as much during the rest of the year. The developers do make a lot of money on the condo's, and The Spinnaker and LaVela are on prime land.

Assuming 250, 000 people go to PCB over Spring Break. Assuming everyone of them go to La Vela twice while on Spring Break, and assume that they have 10 drinks total.

Also, assume those drinks are 4.00 a piece, and an average cover charge of $20 was charged.

4 X 10 X 250, 000 = $10, 000, 000

20 X 2 X 250,000 = $5,000,000

Total is $15,000,000

That is just one club alone, and I think I was pretty conservitive on the numbers. That is just Spring Break, not counting food, concessions, all of the party holidays throughout the year (4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day)

You're assuming 250k, all of which (you assume) will venture to LaVela twice. OK, I assume 60 days of spring break will result in 500k person visits. Your assumption would average 8.3k people per day at LaVela. I wouldn't call that conservative....

10 drinks at the club?? I probably agree with you b/c I had a lot of 'free' beer from 11am to 1pm last year. But it was free beer. I didn't pay $4 each time. I know I didn't shoot thru $40 worth of drinks per day at LaVela. I was drinking, but I wasn't too stupid. I went to Walmart and bought a case a day (roughly).

Cover charge I probably agree...it ranged from $5 at 6pm to around $35 at peak times (~midnight). But there were a lot of people that refused to pay that exorbitant amount...jeez, it's the Redneck Riveria after all. I refused to pay anything over $15 cover.

In sum, I have to get back to finishing this school project. But the numbers you're throwing around are a little off the wall.

I said a total of 10 drinks at La Vela, assuming per person, total for the week......I think the is VERY conservative. Not including free drinks obviously. I also assumed that people did pay $20 cover at least twice, on average. Average means, maybe I paid $40 4 times in a week, but Joe only paid $10 once. See what I'm saying?

For me, having a good time is priceless. I don't put $$ amounts. I mean, if I'm on spring break, why hold back.....isn't that the point. On tripsmarter, you can find out the history of spring break. They have a section on it. One of the main things is for students to "let go" for a week. That means getting away from pressures and things that hold young people back in society, and to me that means spend a little more than usual.

I see you took the time to reply, but how about taking some time to read what someone is saying before replying next time. They'll be plenty of time to put your foot in your mouth elsewhere.

Sounds like somebody needs spring break to happen now!
