First Week of March???

My spring break is the first week of March this year just like every other year. I'm hoping to go PCB this year for the fourth time. The only problem is it seems like not many schools have the same spring break as us. I remember my first and second year there it was just packed, but the past couple years it has seemed to have died down a little bit. I noticed that even more schools that shared the same spring break have pushed it back a week or two this year. I really want to go but if no one is gonna be down there, it's gonna suck. Does anyone have any insight on this???

STEVE-O,

Get your priorities in order.....this is your fourth spring break. Go during the peak week for once. You owe it to yourself. Convince your buddies, and even bring your books if it makes you feel better. I mean, you can use them as coasters or something.

Either way, its not gonna suck. You'll have fun.

Hey,
I am gonna be down in PC February 28-March 6. Is there anything really going on that week. We don't want it to suck totally. This is our frist spring break so we want it to be good. We can't go any other week so should we even bother. Can you tell me a bit about what goes on this week.

Hey All..

Here is where it gets tricky. Spring Break starts offically the last week of Feburary. That week usally is the slower of them all. There will be like 15-20 campuses that are out on the same time. That don't mean that all the students are coming to PCB. I'm sure the guys here on tripsmarter.com will be posting the schools and the dates they are out here with in a week or two. Trust me though, the bars will be open the clubs will be hopping and YES it is worth your time to come here. It really isn't prime until the second week of March. Then it is full swing until the second week of April. All I'm gonna say is.. COME ON DOWN
(God I feel Like Bob Barker now LOL)

Well, I didn't exactly get the reassurance I was looking for, but that's OK. I've decided I'm going anyway. I'm trying to round up as many people as I can to go. If there isn't gonna be a lot of people down there, I'll bring my own party with me. I know some people going down the next week, so I might just have to make it a two week spring break this year. Now that I've committed to going, all I can do is wait. I can't handle it!!

don't worry...

Although the first week of March won't be nearly as crowded, there will still be plenty to do and lots of students in town.

All of the bars/clubs will have their Spring Break specials, contests, etc in full effect by then.

However, if you can manage to stay for the second week, I'm sure it will be worth it.

Oh yeah - here are the College & University Spring Break Dates.

Yeah, 69,000 vs. 739,000 is quite a difference, but it just means less of a line up at the clubs for you....it will be a blast!!!

Plus, most of the students that have break during the second week of March will be getting into town Fri. and Sat., so even if you can stay 1 or 2 extra days, it will be worth it.

Usually, Sat. and Sun. nights are pretty crazy since it's most students' first night or two in town!

You know, I looked at some different lists of Spring Break dates, and it kinda sucks because they are missing a lot of big schools. They have some Division 3 schools on there and like Michigan State isn't even on the list. Their one of the bigger universities in the country. Their spring break is the second week of March by the way. I just don't really trust the numbers. I know they can't make a list with every college on it, but it seems like they should at least have the bigger schools listed.

We're still working on the list, and yes it's difficult to accurately have info for all schools. Rest assured, though that any info that's on our list is either from the school's website, from an associate of the school, or another reliable source (a state website with university info, national website with university info, etc.). That's probably why Michigan State's info isn't up yet - we haven't been able to confirm. We're not gonna rely on dates from a questionable source (like another SB website).

We'll take another look at schools that are missing from the list (I'm sure there are a few) and try to confirm their dates. Thanks for the heads-up.

University of Southern Mississippi, University of South Alabama, and Mississippi State University are all the Third Week of March. University of Mississippi (aka Ole Miss) is out the Second week... 2nd and 3rd weeks are definately going to be rock'n!
