Best food in PCB??
I'm just wondering what everyone's opinion is on this subject? I'm hoping to check a few different places out this year. Usually we don't make it anywhere other than Pizza Hut and Waffle House. I'm talkin about local restaurants that you can't find anywhere else. Any recommendations??

Frankie D's Pizza (on Thomas Drive - beside Show N Tail) has the BEST pizza on the Beach! Plus, they deliver to most hotels!
Beach BBQ (Front Beach Rd - 1/2 mile or so West of Hooters) has the BEST BBQ on the Beach! Tell Mom and Pop TripSmarter.Com sent ya! Boatyard opened up this past summer and is AWESOME! Great Caribbean food! Cool place to party on Friday nights, too (upstairs)! Schooners is great! Try the fried grouper sandwhich. Also a good place to party! Spinnaker's Paradise Grill has great food, plus you can hang out on the pool deck or overlook the Beach while you eat! Capt Anderson's and Hamilton's are perfect places for a date if you happen to hook up while you're in town. Los Rancheros just opened in the Edgewater Shopping Plaza (across from Holiday Inn) and has awesome Mexican food (try the chicken chimichanga!)! Coram's for the late night alcohol soaker meal - they're open 24 hours. 2 Locations - 1 on Thomas Drive (near Bay Point) and another on Back Beach near hwy 79 (West end) and are 100 times better than Waffle House. Try their HEAVENLY HASH! Granny's Kitchen has a good homestyle buffet - perfect hangover food. On Thomas Drive near Grand Lagoon (1/4 mile East of the Treasure Ship bridge). Mikato's is a really fun Hibachi restaurant... group seating will help you meet other Spring Breakers. Front Beach Rd 1 mile West of Hathaway Bridge. More Panama City Beach restaurants! Note: Another reason to go to the above restaurants is because the local fast food places (McDonalds, Wendys, KFC) are SLAMMMED.. (huge lines, waits, slow!!) during Spring Break. You will go hungry standing in line or finding places to park.
Plus.. the famous 99cent menus at the fast food places magically end up being 1.29 or higher during Spring Break! (why?.. because they can) Do yourself a favor. Try a new restaurant/beach bar for food. You'll meet people and the food will be fantabulous. Eat fast food at home. AAAAAAAND.... You can't get beer at McD's, Wendy's, KFC.. There are so many reasons to eat at the local restaurants. ________ Live sex webshows |

Try Boondocks. It's under the bridge on hwy 79 about 10 minutes north of back beach road. Great Seafood and a funky atmosphere. Nicole at: Panama Limo

Here it is!!
BY FAR the best place you will find is the Beach BBQ!!!! Hands down!! They are the coolest people there also! Mom and Pop will take good care of you! Plus they usually take pictures of all the spring breakers and post them on the wall, its pretty cool! And, they have the best hot sauce in the world. I baught 3 bottles last year, and I just ran out last month, so its time to get some more!! Make sure you go there at least once!! Enjoy

I love to get some ice cold raw oysters and beer. We usually go to Shuckums or Hammerhead Freds. Of course that's not really a "meal" but one heck of an appetizer. :D

42 Wings
This one dude (who will remain nameless) ate 42 wings from Hammerhead friends. We all chanted 42 the rest of the week. It was pretty cool.

I have never managed to finish reviewing all the PCB restaurants we hit last year, but here's the basic rundown.
(We dropped a grand on food so you don't have to. :D ) - Hook's: The jerk chicken was fantastic, and it's nice to just hang out and watch the fishing boats. Not crazy about the crappy patio chairs, though. - Pampanos: Wretched service, sub-par food for the price. Nearly walked out with $80 worth of dinner uneaten. Nuff said. - Capt. Andersons: Fantastic, although a bit crowded for my taste. (Full review in my travelblog.) - Hamilton's: My wife and I disagree on this one... in retrospect, she says CA's is better than Hamilton's, but I've gotta give the nod to the latter. If you like seafood, you can't go wrong at either place. - Angelo's: Exemplary service... probably the best waitstaff I've ever encountered. And the special that night (ribeye) was perfectly cooked and comparatively cheap. Only the limited breadth of the menu keeps it from being my favorite. - Schooners: Entirely underwhelming. Overpriced for run-of-the-mill fare. - Montego Bay: Skip it unless you're just looking for a drink. - Mikato: Fantastic, and like Angelo's, makes picking a "best" restaurant really difficult. Of course, like any similar place, your experience is going to be infliuenced by the folks at your table... we had some serious duds sitting with us, a pack of dazed guys who couldn't be bothered to even cough up some polite applause for the show. - Casa de Fogo: Get your Atkins on... not the best Brazillian food I've had (we've actually got a local place that's better), but still very, very pleasing for the carnivores in the audience. - Frankie D's: Had it delivered a couple times... do yourself a favor and stick with Frankie over Pizza Hut or Domino's. - Pineapple Willy's: Well, it's a fun place, I'll give it that, with plenty of big screens if you want to watch a game. And you can eat later than most places. But pretty much anything outside of the BBQ is dangerously close to fast-food quality. Try it, but don't expect much. - Sweet Basil: Nice place, friendly staff, but the food... average, at best. On the other hand, the menu is full of inexpensive stuff, so if you're eating on the cheap and craving Italian, you're in luck. - Spinnaker's: This is a tough one. If you're picking a place to eat based solely upon the quality of food, the Paradise Grill ranks pretty low. But if you're picking a place based upon your ability to walk directly from a bikini contest to a grilled tuna sandwich, it pretty much rules. |

Chicken Wings Challenge
Direct the all u can eat chicken wings to a member of this forum. He had 42 last year at Hammerhead Fred's.
Anyone up for a challenge, this guys is the man!!! I've got to keep him motivated for competition. BTW, I'm not, after that I couldn't eat another chicken wing. I got 28, and I was out. JB, we got to start hitting BW3's on Tuesdays until the competion begins. He is a regular poster, if he wants to send his name, up to him. |

Hurrican Grill
Hurricane Grill is on the left if you heading east on Thomas. It is no more than a mile down. It is a small place and easily missed if you're not looking for it.

I did like the chicken wings at Hammerhead's. Thanks Bill for reminding me. But when you wake up at 11am, get the beer at LaVela, crash for a power nap, you're gonna be hungery. I didn't know at the time you were counting.
I stayed at the Boardwalk last year. I walked to Walmart everyday to get groceries and a case. Prices were a little more reasonable. Plus, it was good exercise to walk there. At least I ate reasonably healthy. Beer + vegetables + fruit + wings. With the Subway closed across the street, it looks like Super Walmart will be on the daily agenda. We're staying at the Summit this year, with a nice large refrigerator. No more using the bathtub as an ice bucket for beer (well, this year anyway). We'll be looking at the Beach BBQ and Frankie D's, as well as that seafood buffet place 1.5 east of the Summit. Gotta eat the seafood when you're at the Gulf! |
