Hey guys this is the first time I will be heading out on spring break and thus the first tiem ive been to panama city. I have searched all over for different hotels but having not been there im not sure which ones are the big draws for spring breakers and which are located decently close to the clubs.
I am organizing the trip for a bunch of people so one of the major things im having thrown at me is the cost of the trip. If everyone that has been down there before can list where they stayed, how much it cost and what you thought of the place it would be much appreciated. If anyone has a map online that show the hotel locations in relation to the clubs and the like (other then the aboutspringbreak.com one) it would help as well. The two that I have found are holiday inn sunspree and the sand piper. Sunspree from the sounds of it is going to be alot more fun but also cost a ton more. Does hotel location matter alot or is it pretty easy to get to other places down there? Finally we're gonna try and go down the 21-28 or if our finals permit 20th-27th of March anyone going down that week? If so where you stayin? Sorry I know I leave long posts but if you need help clarifying stuff please ask and I will clear it up. If you want to give me advice personally you can IM me, my screen name is PointSplat2 on AIM. |

What hotel to stay at is an important choice to make. Most of your day will be spent there and if no one is there it will take a lot of fun away from your trip.
I would have to say that the Holiday Inn and the Boardwalk are the two most popular hotels in PCB. I haven't experienced the Boardwalk, but I have stayed at the Holiday Inn. It's crazy. You can't go wrong staying there. The only negatives are they're quite strict when it comes to bringing unregistered guests into the hotel, which sucks. Also they're pretty expensive. The Boardwalk is pretty expensive too. If you want a cheaper place to stay, I recommend the Chateau. I've stayed there the past couple years, and loved it. I don't think that I will ever stay anywhere else again. Also it's about half the price of the Holiday Inn. As for location, the Boardwalk is right by Club La Vela and Spinnaker on one end of the strip. The Chateau is located directly in the middle of the strip and it is right next to Harpoon Harry's. The Holiday Inn is about halfway in between the Chateau and Boardwalk. I have a brochure that a picked up at our hotel last year, with all the hotels, clubs, restaurants, shops, etc. on it. I haven't been able to find anything similar online though. |

Hey man you probably want to stay at Boardwalk or Holiday Inn. The last two years a stayed at a place called Beach Tower Resort but they sucked last year. The price was good and all but we couldn't hang out in the front of the hotel last year and a couple nights they even tried to run people off our private balcony out back which was total B.S. So this year I'm going to Boardwalk plus the beach is always bumpin' behind there and its right next to the super-clubs. The Sandpiper is pretty far away from everthing. You'd have to call a taxi or drive if you want to go clubbin' but it does have a pretty nice tiki bar though. Lots of girls and guys are always there. If you want to hang out on the strip alot I'd stay at Holiday Inn but I've heard that their security is pretty tight and its hard to get guess in your room. I hope I could be of some help.
You definetly came to the right web site for help. Tripsmarter.com is awesome. |

Damn guys thanks for the excellent replies already, I am going to call holiday inn and see what kind of prices they can offer. Has anyone felt it cheaper to deal with an outside agency for renting the hotel versus the hotel itself? If so who did you go through and are they reliable?
As far as the map with the clubs and things on it, if there happens to be a nice one at our hotel this year I will make sure to scan it into the comp and put it online for everyone. Keep the info comin and if your gonna be down there 21-28 give me a shout. |

I'd have to agree with what ppl are saying here... Boardwalk, Holiday Inn Sunspree, Chateau, Summit.
Better hurry... chances are they are filling up fast since they are the most popular hotels. Here's a great post from last year: Best Spring Break Hotel Good luck! |
