Prices
I was wondering if anyone knew the prices of admission to the clubs, cabs to and from Days Inn to LaVela and really how much money we should be bringing. My friend thinks only 400 but I am saying more like 650....what do you guys think. (we are 18 if that makes any difference in the club prices)

Well, it all depends on how long you are staying for. If you're talking about staying for a weekend I'm sure 400 bucks would be enough. Now if you're talking a week, I'd say more. I don't think that the club entry should be more than 20 bucks, being that you're underage, but the fact you are a chick, it might not be much at all. And the majority of money spent is on alcohol, so you won't have to worry about that too much. Were going for a week and bringing a few grand a piece, but we've spent the last year in Iraq and need to let it all out! Also, the taxi thing shouldn't be much of you're on the strip, but then you might wanna walk everywhere.

If you want to go to LaVela, get there early. If they have a live show, and want to get in at 11pm, expect to pay $35+ per night + your costs for sodas.

I agree that it is very important to get to La Vela early. You get in free during the day, but then prices go up as the night goes on. Other clubs are cheaper. I think Harpoon Harry's, Sharky's, Latitudes, and Hammerhead Fred's are more like 10-20 bucks.
As for rides to and from the clubs I recommend the free shuttle service they have down there. Some organization gives free rides during spring break. They'll pick you up anywhere and drop you off anywhere you need to go. You just need to call. You'll see them down there. They have the number on the side of the van. That's what we used. It's pretty cool. I'd say $650 is a little more than you'll need. I've never spent more than $450, but I usually got to the clubs by like 7 so I could get free or cheap admission. |

I disagree with getting into La Vela free during the day......there were times it was $5, $10, even $15.
I get to the club early, just to get stamped. Usually at around 7 we grab dinner, then head out to the club shortly afterwards. After a long day of partying, 5 to 6 is sleep time, and then 6 to 6:30 is get ready to start over again time. I generally go all out, meaning I will go jet skiing, parasailing, or whatever. I don't care, it is spring break, I have the rest of my life to be cheap. Spring break is about no regrets, well, maybe not....I guess there are things I regret, but all in good fun. You get the idea. |

Don't worry,
There are jet skis and parasails located all along the beach. As for the dolphin thing, a boat takes you out a few miles and lets you swim with them. If you wake up early enough (Sun rise, you can even see dolphins jumping off the beach)....well, or stay up late enough. |
