MY buddy and I finally booked our hotel at the Islander. 127 a night heck of a deal. Can't wait till we get down there. Its a cool 15 degrees with a wind chill of 5 WHEW this will be my first time down there so i need someone to "show me around" ahhaha anybody else staying at the islander? let me know hell ya 47 days

I won't be down there at that time, but I have stayed at the Islander before. It's right dead in the middle of the strip. All you will have to do is walk out the door and you'll be there. It is a good ways away from LaVela. I know during the summer it took me and a friend about an hour to pick someone up and get to LaVela. It's a good hotel for the price and exceptionally good for the location I think. I hope that helps a little.

All we need is a place to hang out hats for the night. is there even activties there that you know of during spring break at the hotel?oh ya and being right there what does that mean?

What that means is you will be right in the middle of the action at night. The strip is where everyone cruises. You'll be walking distance to Harpoon Harry's, Latitude's, Hooters, Chateau Motel, County Pier, Ramada, Days Inn, and many other big Spring Break spots.

During the Day, most of the action will be behind the Superclubs (Club La Vela, Spinnaker, Hammerhead's) which are actually away from the strip on Thomas Drive. A little far to walk.

how far is from the islander to the Chateau?

1/4 mile or so... easy walking distance.
