Its my first time going to PCB too. I read some of the local laws and you can drink on the beach as long as you don't have glass containers. You can even bring Kegs on the beach and we are!!!! The laws I read said you couldn't walk down the sidewalk and drink beause something about not being able to have alcohol within so many feet of a car. Hope this helps. Ask CollegeGuy, he he has been there a few times. Holla!!!

ok..............

Well, as for the beach, you can drink and have kegs on the beach. But no glass at all. I have never really seen this enforced to much, cause there have been several people with me drinking bottles of beer and putting them back in their cooler, but, cans are easier to deal with, and you wont get in trouble! If you have hard liqour, I suggest mixing it into a large water bottle or empty gatorade bottle. As for on the street, I have no clue! Id advise you not to, probably not a smart thing! Well, hope this helps, enjoy

Another law to be aware of (you may have this in your area).. Open Container Law. If you have an open container of alcohol in your vehicle (even if you're not drinking it), you're going to go to jail or be fined.... this even applies if the container is completely empty (or has been empty for weeks..)

Examples: Empty beer cans used as ashtray, or empty cans or bottles in the back of your car or truck bed. This is a basic explaination, but one thing cops can get you on if they want to find a reason to ticket you... or add to a ticket.

;) Tip: When leaving a club, check the bed of your truck to make sure people haven't set empty cans or bottles into it while you were inside. Trash cans aren't always around, and being pulled over for failure to signal or something could get even more expensive w/ Open Container Law added on.. if you've got a grumpy cop.

Cool Laws

As for walking and drinking on the streets / sidewalks..... don't!!!

Florida State Law requires that you must be 21 to purchase, consume or posses alcoholic beverages. Open alcoholic containers on public property, including streets, sidewalks, or inside a vehicle is prohibited. A person of legal age cannot sell or provide alcoholic beverages to any person underage.

no, clubs will not allow you to bring drinks in or leave with them. but you can bring your own alcohol to the beach behind the club.

Club La Vela (and most other clubs) will not let you bring any drinks into the club. They're happy to let you purchase drinks once you're inside...

This way they have control over what you drink once you get inside, and by preventing you from bringing your own drinks in, they don't have to worry about anyone bringing anything dangerous (GHB, or other drugs for instance) in and causing their guests harm. .. plus they make money on beer/liquor, but it's more of a safety/liability thing.

Here's how to do it if you're of age....

1. Go to the store: If you need to, stock up your condo/room and drink there (pre-party) while planning your day.
2. Hit the beach behind the clubs/hotels. People will be drinking out there and you'll find places that sell alcohol everywhere. (party on the beach)
3. You'll be able to drink at the clubs (not a problem), and the super clubs have pool decks w/ bars too.
4. Bring people back to your room and party (post-party)

Repeat all week.

Probably not the best idea but I've done it. There is a beach patrol down there but it seems like they are out more during the night. So I'd say just don't drink on the beach at night, because the chance of getting caught is a lot higher.

The police actively enforce the underage drinking laws, the open alcohol container laws, and any other laws they can find to use against you.

This includes the use of plainclothes officers who will drive by or walk up and check your ID if they see you drinking, even at your hotel/condo. Keep it inside, keep the door closed.

In addition, the PCB police will get assistance from several other police agencies. Do not assume that a cop from another town, sheriff, highway patrol, etc. will not stop you. They are there to do just that and will.

Also if you are driving, make sure your car is legal. All the lights work. No red or blue lights (neon or others) are on when you are on public roads. You can also be stopped for loud music from your car. And don't forget the Police drug dogs that walk along the side of the street waiting to get a hit on your car and pull you over for that. Keep it at home.

low down

Ok, here is the low down and the truth!!! Cops are cool down there! If your under 21 and drinking on the beach, YOU ARE FINE!! It is not strictly enforced! Just dont be walking around acting like an idiot!! But have fun. And NO, you dont have to keep your door closed when drinking, are you kidding me? I never once saw a cop or security go by my room, or anyone elses room asking if we are all 21. As a matter fact, Ive never seen ANY cop ask anyone if they were 21, so as a Panama City Spring Break Vet, you really dont have much to worry about as long as you arent on the main streets drinking! I think that covers everything, enjoy

There are cool cops, but then there are not.. just keep your wits about you and play it safe. Better to be safe than sorry.

Spring break not only a means for you to party.... it is a chance for law enforcement agencies to band together to deal with thousands and thousands of people from all over.

....It's the superbowl of training scenarios for rookie cops and seasoned vets. They get to deal with EVERYTHING in a very short amount of time... DUIs, violence, drug trafficing, crowd control, spotting fake IDs, working with ATF, everything... during the off-season, not a lot happens here.

Spring break would be an ideal opportunity to put a lot of training to the test. Cops... and A LOT of them, will be out in full force. If you get a cool one, it's because they are tired or have something more urgent to deal with at the time... they will see a lot of action each spring break.

Just be smart and respectful. ;)
