avoiding theft...

Okay it may seem like a stupid question but say all my frinds are on the beach and we all want to go swimming at once... I'm not about to leave all my stuff (money, ID, hotel key... whatever) on the beach in my pockets.... any ideas on what to do??? water proof pouch-like-things???

it's sound dumb...but serously it's bound to happen!!

Good question. The way it looks right now, I may be going by myself, and I don't want to have someone else I don't already know to watch my stuff. Any tips?

You could put it in a box and bury it in the sand... Then make a treasure map! Make sure you yell out I found Me treasure when digging up... LOL

I would think straping plastic bags to you while you swim would not only be a swimming hazzard but look even dumber than digging up your treasure.

But one thing you probably should do is just put your stuff in your car. For guys putting a wallet in a air tight bag can fit in your pocket.. Of course then a wave hits you and it falls out... But if everyone HAS to get in the water at the same time then put the stuff in your hotel's safe or your car.

As someone on the beach, I'd just bring my ID only (for getting carded) and some cash and put it in something waterproof (small ziplock about the size of the ID itself.. fold up the money)

... don't bring ALL your money at once to the beach, just what you think you'd need for the day, or afternoon. I assume you'll go back to your hotel to change before hitting the club. Then you can get what you need moneywise for the night...

..anyway. All you really need is money and an ID (Don't forget the ID!!!).. and keep them in your pocket (if your shorts have velcro or snaps, then even better) .. they'll stay dry in the bag in your pocket.

Ladies.. I dunno. I really suggest you wear as little as possible, and get the guys to pay your way into places. Just don't lose your ID :D .. hahaha.

Seriously.... If you're with friends, at least one or two of you will probably want to stay on the beach and tan or talk to other spring breakers, so have them watch your stuff while you get in the water. If not, and you don't have pockets, just hang on to your stuff, try not to get it too wet, and don't lose it... Clubs here are very used to taking wet and damp money. It all dries out.

I'd suggest taking turns having one person to stay on the beach and look after everyone's stuff.

Guys can keep everything (ID, cash, hotel key [usually a swipe card]) in their pockets. But, I don't think I've ever seen a bikini with pockets, so girls are kinda out of luck. Sucks, but what else ya gonna do?

I definitely wouldn't leave that stuff on the beach unattended, cause if it gets stolen:
A. you lose money
B. you'll get charged for losing the hotel key
C. no ID, no clubs

I guess if you're feeling lucky you could just try and keep an eye on your stuff from the water, but there will be alot of people on the beach and it might be difficult to watch your stuff... especially if you've been drinking.

It is possible you can find some kind of small waterproof container with a strap to put stuff in and hang it around your neck or waste, but if you lose it in the water... you're SOL.

Oops! Bring your room key. LOL!

Nobody's perfect. I lost $45 in the Club La Vela pool once... not fun, especially when it's hot outside and they're charging for water.

You're right. You never know where you'll end up. 'Guestimate' what you might need for cash based on what you're doing that day.. (plus extra just in case something comes up). I'm sure you'll do fine. Enjoy.
