I feel like Im living in the twilight zone, none of my friends will get excited about going to Spring Break. I am the only one that is trying to go. If we do go, Im still the one that has to do all the leg work and reservations. I have 3 friends that say they would go, but then they say they have no money or they dont want to go to Cancun because its "young punks". My friends act like we are all old, we range from 21-23 years old, but they act like we are 40. ALl they ever one to do is go to local bars, never go downtown and go clubbing. Im so sick of the bar scene around here. When we were 18-20 they were all about clubbing, now that we are legal, they dont do ****. So I want to do something different and go to spring break, but its like pulling teeeth with these kids. I want to have a fun life and live life to the fullest, but its hard with this group of friends.

I dont want this year to get ruined again, I tried to get everyone to go to Cancun last year, that fell through. Im all about making sacrifices and not going out to save up money , but these kids arent. Sorry for the rant, but what would you guys do if you had no one to go with, but you wanted to go real bad. Only one of my friends would go guaranteed, but I dont think we could afford a hotel with only a 2 person rate. This sucks, spring break is like a month a way.

Find new friends.

really find out whos going and get to know them, chances are they already have plans and that if you just added your money to theirs it would be even cheaper for them.

Dude, are they gay? Cause I'm 25 and I love spring breaks.. Although most people are younger than me, it doesnt make a difference.. besides,. the chicks dig older guys anyways.. They would have it made.. They said NO to cancun??? WTF, some of the best ***** I ever had was in CANPOON! lol

Take that one buddy and find a few new friends.. that or show them some PCB pics.. They'll change their mind.. beside.. Paris Hilton is comin to PCB for spring break.. Cant beat that!

Hey man I feel your pain. I couldn't really find anyone to go either. I had one friend who was all about it, and everyone else was giving me maybe as their response. I wasn't gonna wait for them to decide, so I said screw it and we found some people to go. You gotta be able to find someone. Two people is all you need and you're set. Even if you don't know them too well. Who cares. If their losers, you'll have other people to hang out with. As long as their splitting the room with you, then you're in business. Good Luck.

One more thing, if you want to convince your friends to go, get them on this board. If that won't get them excited, I don't know what will. I've been to PCB 3 times and I've had to talk at least one person into it every year, and they've all thanked me later.

Beachbreak, is that cheap? I have been searching like mad to find a cheap hotel thats still kinda close and isnt strict on bringing people back. I wanted to stay at the boardwalk, but **** it, Ill take anything at this point.

beachbreak isn't that bad. there is four of us so it makes it even better. i suggest checking them out. they say the secruity is pretty cool.

Wow, now my friends suck even more, the one "guaranteed" friend I had cant go anymore. ITs amazing, the kid takes 3 vacations a year, but the one time I want to go somewhere hes not allowed because he works for his dad and he just laid off people, my luck sucks. The weird thing about is he didnt even seem to mind, I dont get these kids, I need to move, I need new friends or something.

Now its down to 2 people, one of which is broke as hell and isnt working right now, but really wants to go , alot of good that does me. And the other doesnt realize how sweet places like Cancun or PCB are,hes the one that thinks its "a bunch of young punks" even though hes only 23, he says he wants to go to Vegas. While Vegas seems like it would be fun, thats the last place I want to spend my Spring Break, and its too expensive.

A couple cool people from here have offered to join up with me, but I would at least want to go down with one person I know, this blows.

stay at the plaza motel...cheap place might still have room. Me and a few buddies are going down, i'm sure we'd be glad to have a chic to come along with us. Any pics so that we could recognize you girls?

Ditch your friends that are boring or "always broke." Trust me ... I understand money can be tight for some people, but we all have friends who are "always broke."

If everyone is going somewhere, they say "well .. I'm short on cash" and everyone chips in for them. Even if they don't realize it, they are using guilt or their knowledge that you need one more body to get you to pick up part of their tab.

If you can't find good friends who can scratch up the cash ... here is a blunt suggestion:

Skip going somewhere for Spring Break this year, and stash that money for next year. Do some extra partying around your area and find some new damn friends.

Or just save so you can come down by yourself next year even if it means coming down by yourself. Not hard to make friends in the middle of 100,000 poople.

Besides, if you can afford to book a room the next year all to yourself, you are in control. Ya ... you'll have a bunch of freeloaders wanting to come along, but since you already are going and already paid for the room, you can Man Up and insist they pay their freight (before you leave) or "fuggetaboutit."

Don't be a slave to boring people or those who think they are so important that you should pay for their trip.

Thats some good advice. I know moneys tight for some people, me being one of them, but I make sacrafices to make it work. I know with my tax returns and my next few pay checks Id be able to pay for it with a little extra to spare, and my job sucks.

Looks like I might have to take your suggestion and skip it this year, but that pisses me off because I didnt go anywhere last year. Im having a 1/4 life crisis, I want to have fun right now before Im 35 looking around going, "what happened to my life".
Oh well, Im still gonna see if the last 2 people can somehow go, not likely, but Ill try. Thanks for the suggestions.
