Cover charges

Hey-

This is my first time in Panama City for Spring Break. How much is a typical cover charge for like Spinnaker's or Club LeVela?

I think we should make these types of threads "sticky's" to prevent the same questions from being asked over and over. :D

La Vela ranges from $25-$45 if you're under 21. BUT, you can get your hand stamped between 5-7pm for 5 or 10 bucks...and just come back later. (not exactly sure how that works if you're under 21).

If you're over 21...there are all kinds of incentives to stand in line early to get your hand stamped. Just ask around once you get there.

Well

Cover charges are only half the battle. What are the beer prices? Any drink specials for the different days of the week?

Since I don't drink...I'm not sure about the prices. But I know that both Spinnakers and La Vela offer "free" drinks, or drink specials during their discounted cover charge periods.

So if you go early and get in for $10, can you get your hand stamped , leave, then come back?

we get one of those panamaniac cards with our hotel package! But you have to get in line by like 6 to get in between 7-9 So bring a beer or 2 and meet some people in line! But yeah, I'm pretty sure you can get your hand stamped and then come back...oh ya wanna know another secret??
....Some places that do the black stamp thing...go back to your place and take a marker or an ink pen and trace it onto your friends hands!!! I saw some guys do that a few years back...worked like a charm!! Have FUN!!!

Is the panamaniac card worth getting? It says free admission, is that every day at 7-9 like you said? And what is this Spinnaker Vip card I keep seeing?

La Vela

It really depends on how busy it is and when you get there. I was there on thursday night early and only paid 10 bucks, but friday night didn't show up until like 12 and it was 25 bucks and it was packed as well

I'm in PCB now, and La Vela has definitely gotten greedy with the cover charge. The LEAST you'll get in for is $10. The "discounted" cover is 7-9...but, if you're not one of the first 10 people in line, you can forget about getting in for $10. They don't start letting people in until around 7:30. By that time, the line is almost to the street. By 7:45...they start charging $15. By 7:55,they're already charging $20. So, depending on how long you're going to be there, it's better to get a Gold Card.

Angry I dont know...

The more and more I hear about these cover charges, the more and more I don't want to go to the clubs... are they even that worth it?! I don't know..maybe it's just the Texas in me, but the bars/clubs we go to...we never have to pay over 10 bucks (rarely EVER pay a cover anywhere)...My friend went to PCB last year and said the gold card is a rip...maybe me and my girls will just hit up parties elsewhere, or just party in our hotel!
