Driving tips

Does anybody have any tips for driving or anything? Like places to look out for cops? ALso, are other states like Wisconsin in the way that if you are from out of state and get a speeding ticket, to you have to go to jail if you don't pay it on the spot?

nice radar detector, K-40 recomended. also get with a group that is speeding..that cuts your chances down on getting pulled. 4 cars speeding = 25% chance of you getting caught, 75% of you not getting caught...odds sound good to me!

WOW

You have to pay a speeding ticket on the spot in Wisconsin?? That sounds like bribery to me. There is no check to see if the cop is keeping the money or not as well as stating the right fine. They would have to take me to jail there is no way I would pay it on the spot. Hell down here they are not even allowed to state the fine. Basically just drive safely you are on vacation why stress yourself out to get here? A great radar detector is the passport 8500. The best way to avoid a ticket is to drive no more than 7 mph over the speed limit.

I agree with Adam; stay in packs on the interstate and you'll be fine. Watch out though once you get on the highways. When the signs say they say 35 they mean it. My friends and I have more than a few tickets to prove it. Also watch out when you get to the beach. They will tow your car if you park in customer only lots and leave.

We are taking 90 to chicago, then 65 to montgomery, then bumble **** highways till PCB. And yes, if you are from out of state and you get a ticket in Wisconsin, they hold you if you don't pay it right away. It sucks.

Hey, posrdude, we are leaving from indiana, taking 65 all the way to mong. alabama, then hitting 230 south, it runs right into pcb, quickest way also from 65!! Go to mapquest.com and get a free map, thats what we have used the past 2 years, this being our 3rd, its fast! But..............going through alabama, especially the southern part, cops are pricks! Watch your speed!!! Enjoy

I got pulled over on 231 in south alabama last year with 3 cop cars and drug dogs were out immediately when i was pulled over, no joke. Your rights go straight out the window. My friend was pulled over 100 yards behind me and we were both told we were "swerving", what a load of ****. Since none of us were 21 they kept $200 worth of liquor, it was pretty obvious were trying to bust us for drugs.

Hey guys! 2 more days for me!!! I heard from some people that the SEC tournament is going on in Atlanta or something like that...also, in Alabama, just because you dont see a cop doesnt mean your'e not getting a ticket. Ive heard that they have helicopters that can see if your speeding...i.e.those white lines on the road...they can send you the speeding ticket in the mail! So be careful!!!! :D

I haven't heard anything about Alabama having any helicopters in the air. In towns they may have something in intersections for running a red light, but I don't think they have helicopters. I live in Tuscaloosa which is the 5th biggest city in Alabama and we don't have any helicopters or anything else checking your speed but cop cars. Alabama doesn't have any money anyway. We have cut back spending on everything you could think of. People make it out that Alabama cops are just waiting to pull you over, but I don't really think so. Maybe really small towns you go through, but that's about it. Just make sure you do the speed limit in those towns. You may also hit some strips that are open and nothing is around, but the speed limit is like 45. Those are definately speed traps and are usually around those smaller towns.
