PCB SB '04 Final Word!

I just arrived home from Spring Break and here are some suggestions.

Top 5 Do's:

#1 Go to Spinnaker! They have the best cover bands (Noah's Rain kicked ***), the dance floor has great music, cranberry and vodka (double shot) only $5! Noah's Rain sings Melloncamp, Pearl Jam, ACDC, to name a few.

#2 Pre-funk at Salty's! They hook you up with so much vodka, three drinks and you're out! They have the best atmosphere with a great crowd to talk to, Joe Dirt makes an occasional appearance, and the Rock Lobster's play from time to time.

#3 Hear the Rock Lobster's!!! They play at Edgewater Resort during the day and Salty's at night. They throw in their own adlibs from the crowd while singing and they sing great songs! Even when they are not playing, you hear "If the phone doesn't ring, it's me" by Jimmy Buffett!

#4 Play beach volleyball, football, basketball, ultimate frisbee and many other sports on the beach. The beach outside of the Boardwalk, Holiday Inn Sunspree, and the Edgewater always have great sports going on! Join in!

#5 Meet Mel and take a ride in Mel's Taxi! Mel has a few jokes up his sleeve and his party van ride home is worth every penny!

Top 5 Dont's

#1 Don't trust the airlines. Delta airlines screws you by overbooking flights out of PC. We had to drive to Atlanta to fly out.

#2 Don't walk to LaVela/Spinnaker along the strip. Dealing with wannabe roughnecks with mullets driving in beat up Cadillac's is a waste of time. They will harass you and then drive away scared after running their mouth.

#3 LaVela's daytime $25 cover for all-you-can-eat/drink special is a rip off. Natural Light is the worst beer ever and the Subway sandwiches were smushed to about 1/2 an inch thick. The Papa John's pizza was cold! The contests were drawn out and nobody show's anyway, because most of the breakers don't want to pay a daytime cover.

#4 Watch out for the money hungry girls. Most of the girls on break are cool, but their are the occasional girls that try to use guys for drinks. Shut them down before they try to play you! Just make sure you meet girls on the beach or while listening to the cover bands. Don't meet them on the dance floor or at the bar.

#5 LaVela was a great club in the past, but their security are jerks and it's now 90% males! If you like wear NBA jersey's and sweatbands and you live the thug life, then LaVela's for you.

ok i'll agree with you on the 'money hungry girls' part... haha i was one of those girls. I'm not literally money hungry, I could afford my own drinks and a lot of guys offered drinks- BUT drunk guys can be just as dumb as drunk girls- If a guy comes and dances on me, I may ask if he can get me a drink cuz I'm not 21, and if he's dumb enough he'll go and get me one, then I'll say thanks, kiss him on the cheek and tell him i'll be right back... and move on to my next victom... that's how me and all my girls did it. It was fun... I didn't pay for ONE drink when I was at the clubs. COME ON if you were a girl you'd do the saaamme thing!!

Huh

A guy has to be drunk and stupid to buy a girl a drink?? I always thought it was a kind gesture. If a girl's choice is to run away after, then that is fine because all she did was accept a drink nothing else.

Now to think of it as a game and search for 'victims' is just wrong.

hey come on, it was fun... i didn't run away from EVERY guy... yes- it's very nice for a guy to buy a girl a drink, but a lot of the guys i did that too bought me a drink thinking they were going to 'get some' in return... those are the guys I use- very rarely did I meet a cute, decent guy at a club that wanted to buy me a drink just to be nice... I am the way I am from experience, there are so many ******* guys out there that use girls or act like huge pigs- and it's spring break... i'm not saying it's WRONG, no one goes to spring break looking for a girlfriend - BUT it's ok for us to be a little scandolous too... sorry to those nice dececent guys that actually respect girls... didn't mean to offend you tigerman- I can either get pissed at all the pigs i met last week or I can get even and make it out to be a "game" and have some fun...

Nah

Im not offended at all. I certainly realize that alot of guys will buy you a drink with one thing on their minds. I was just saying you should find out their intentions before blowing them off.

Im sure I will buy some girls drinks when I go next week but I certainly wont expect anything in return. Hell, I have never had a one night stand before mainly because I never had that type of drive. I just want to go down and have fun and meet a bunch of people, if for some reason I end up sleeping with a girl so be it. But I certainly dont see myself actively trying to get in a girls pants. Maybe Im not aggressive enough.. But I dont care. I just want to have fun. I've certainly had my wild times in my 26 years but using a girl for sex hasn't been apart of that.

Moral of the story... Dont let what alot of guys do ruin the image you have on the rest of us. Otherwise in the end this forces the good to suffer with the bad.

Why did you have to drive to ATL to catch a flight?

Delta/ASA is notorious for providing smaller airports like PCB with lousy service, but that doesn't exempt them from having to take care of things:

If you have a ticket and are bumped, you can bargain for a free ticket or vouchers, a meal, and more. If overnight, they pick up the room and another meal.

How and why were you bumped or the delays were so serious you had to drive to ATL? Curious to know for those of us who may be flying Delta/ASA when visiting PCB in the future.

my tip

for those goin to panama city, here are my tips:

1) free pancakes from the christian people- its a really good way to save $$$ while getting some breakfast. its also fun talkin to the christian people. they're really nice and there were some hot (virgin) chicks there. :D

2) free rides from the christian people- same deal. u just call them and they'll pick u up and drop u off at ur hotel. u save $$$ or a DD. my friend and i called them at 3am and they picked us up from the hotel, drove us to the drive thru window at BK and drove us back, and they didnt complain one bit. the only catch is that they talk about Jesus, so if u wanna avoid that subject, just talk about something else.

3) get either a gold card or panamaniac card, or both- thats what our group did. half of us bought the panamaniac card and the other half got the gold card. then we had more options to where we wanted to go. then, once some of the guys were inside, one of them would just come out and give the cards to the other remaining people.

4) rent a scooter- that **** is fun. just dont scratch it or ull have to pay deposit.
