Club La Vela Property Under Contract

The "largest nightclub in the U.S.A." is nestled on about 5 and a quarter acres of prime real estate sandwiched between the Gulf of Mexico and Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach.

Officials say the property has not sold yet but it is under contract between the current owners, the Pfeffer family--who started building the club 20 years ago--and a Destin-based real estate and land development company, Olson and Associates.

As a matter of public record, the company is planning to build a 982-unit condominium complex there. The property has an estimated taxable value of 3.7 million dollars but the selling price is likely to be much more than that.

There is no official word yet about whether or not Club La Vela will be relocated once the current property is sold.

Although I'd hate to see La Vela leave, it's bound to mean Spinnaker's business will go through the rough. I've prefered Spinnaker for years, but it won't be cool not to have the option of going to La Vela.

Club La Vela is officially closing, we will be here for Spring Break 2005. After spring break we will be closing......all that means is one crazy *** party!!!! This will be the hottest spring break ever!

Where is the new la vela located? In time for 06? Will it be on the beach? Near some hotels? PCB needs more hotels, they are going down like crazy. Sunspree is still up, but that is about it.

All those spring breaks hanging out at the beach and just walking into LaVela will be done after this year. It's a crying shame, but money talks, I guess.

I saw this coming with the demolition of part of the Boardwalk Beach Resort. I said it was a matter of time. However, I also based this on what occurred in Fort Lauderdale and Daytona Beach. These communities don't want the partying kids, but they usually don't have a problem taking their money.

Fort Lauderdale, Daytona Beach and now Panama City Beach will now be the early chapters in the history of spring break.

Some crazy stuff. First of all I don't know anyone who voted for the "Coyboy" of Panama City in the first place, with that said, everyone should go to a TDC meeting it's like watching a rerun of whose line is it anyway. Let's see here, spring break built Panama to what it is today and the "good ole boys" who have made major profits over the years, are now in cahootz with the new OLDER developers. It should be 5 to 10 years before we can recover our economy from this. The statements the "COWBOY" makes are ridicolous, and unfounded. Panama city has the best "paid off" officials money can buy. I suggest not to vote for idiots in the next election...my bad just about everyone who runs has an iq that of Forest Gump. Their motto should be, "let's go corn roll us some queers, or tip a cow. They have no place in politics.

club lavela will still be open for sb05 and will be torn down shortly after the new lavela will be open for sb 06 my present sources tell me it will be located on front beach road somewhere close to the wal-mart........as far as hotels in pcb well we lost a few more after the summer season but still have plenty of rooms concidering that the ones we lost only had about 50 rooms each......there are curently six hotels under construction unfortunatlly they will not be completed until after sb05.......so there will still be places to stay in the the years to come...pcb is wanting to get better not worse...........but we do need to get rid of sullivan he is the problem not the cure........

Front Beach Road, if I remember right, it wont be on the beach anymore. I'm glad they are rebuilding la vela, some of the bathrooms needed upgrading, but I wish it was right on the beach....i hope they still have the daytime pool parties.
