There will still be Spring Breakers around in April, but the crowds will be smaller and most of them will be high schoolers.

YOu can still party... just smaller crowds. Highschoolers in the States are 14-18 yrs old.

to be honest: gonna come cause of the girls ;-) both of us 22y old -- now 14 til 18 sounds "too" young, as alcohol is served from 21y....
or is there still hope that older "locals" or college students from 20y above are still about...?
have u ever been there at that time?
so what was your impression... pretty awful if your lookin for some nice girls to meet up with...
cause of corse I know I can also party "on my own" but don t wanna get drunk every night "4 nothin" ;-)

thx 4 your help, doing a great job

phil

I would try and visit during March. You'll have much more fun and everyone will be your age instead of younger.

There will still be a few college breakers out in April, but check the Spring Break Calendar... all of the major colleges and universities are out in March.

If you were just driving a couple hundred miles, I'd say it's worth it. But coming all the way from Europe, you may be a little disappointed in April.

thx for the calendar.. well it seems that there won t be any colleges n universities left from the 7th of April *damn*

problem is that we re going on to Atlanta after that week for business, so actually can t even try comin durin march..

what about the clubs? are they still open all the time - like "la vela" e.g?

do you have lots of locals at the clubs too, or is it just breakers at that time?

well, at least we re then probably going to avoid queing up too long infront of clubs, ey ;-)

what can you recommend to do in April - any special places you don t wanna miss, or any tickets or cards we should try to grabb before our trip?
how often have u been down to PCB?

thx, anyway...

phil

I live in PCB.

There will still be a handful of colleges, and yes the clubs are still open (with exception to La Vela who will be closing sometime in April to relocate)... and of course there are locals.

You'll probably still have fun, just don't expect it to be like you see on TV or in the magazines during April. Those kinds of crowds are during peak weeks in the middle of March.

We have a great article on things to do in Panama City Beach in our PCB Travel Archives.

Also, check out our Atlanta Travel Guide for info on Atlanta.

Good luck. Hope that helps.

okay, brilliant... thx a lot..

I read that la Vela is going to be closing down end of April!? Isn t that right then.. as it is supposed to be one of the best clubs in the US, I was keen on seeing that one. We re gonna arrive on the 7th - any SURE information I can get somewhere what the exact date is for la Vela to close?!

I also heard that all Colleges and Universities in Louisiana have their spring break in April (middle) - that s just "round the corner" isn t it? Can you verify that info?

As I ve never been too much involved in watching spring break on telly or magazines, I probably won t be too disappointed.. as long as there are people in the clubs, on the dance floors etc (lets say 2000-3000) then that s absolutely okay.. but as i reckon nightlife is always okay in PCB, the question will be if we ll have any durin day action - is that what you meant by "MTV" shots etc... so we ll then miss beach parties and drunken crowds on the beach in april or single events still going on at that time DURIN DAY TIME?

Just as a matter of interest: do a lot of highschoolers od "under 20" people risk getting alcohol and getting drunk or do the underaged stay "all clean"? :-)

Thx Phil
