Hotel Selection

I know there are some of you who still haven't booked your hotel. If that's the case, you better get after it. You don't want to get screwed by having to stay at some piece of trash hotel in the middle of nowhere. There also is probably some people who have a hotel but they find themselves second guessing their choice. Some of you have never been to PCB and really aren't sure if your hotel is gonna be fun or not. Most of you have a basic idea based on posts you have read so far or from people you have talked to what hotels are good. There are three big things that make a hotel fun: atmosphere, location, and security (or lack there of). If you have those basic elements, you're good to go.

These are the biggest spring break hotels in PCB: The Boardwalk Beach Resort, The Holiday Inn, The Chateau, and the Sandpiper Beach Resort. If you're staying at one of these hotels, you'll have the atmosphere you are lookin' for.

As for location, the Boardwalk and the Chateau are the best. The Boardwalk is located near LaVela, Spinnaker's and Hammerhead Fred's, where as the Chateau is next to Harpoon Harry's and Latitude's. The Holiday Inn isn't within walking distance of any clubs and neither is the Sandpiper. The Sandpiper does have it's own tiki bar which is supposedly pretty cool (I've never been there), but it is in the middle of nowhere.

The security at the Chateau has to be the most laid back around. I just can't imagine anywhere else being better. The Boardwalk is pretty easy going too from my experience and from what I've heard. The security at the Holiday Inn is pretty strict. They don't allow guests and they can be pricks sometimes. Unfortunately, I've never been to the Sandpiper so I don't know what their security is like.

If for some reason you can't stay at one of these hotels, there is other good hotels down there. The Days Inn and the Ramada Inn are also right near Latitudes and Harpoon Harry's and are pretty big spring break hotels. I don't think they allow guests after a certain hour too, but besides that they are decent hotels. The Summit seems to be a pretty big spring break hotel too. I've never been there so I really know nothing about it.

If you are staying in one of these hotels, you should be in for a good time. If you are not, it's not a huge deal, but you may want to think about trying one of the hotels I listed.

I'd also like to see some opinions from other spring break vets. I've been to most of the hotels I talked about, but maybe my experiences differed from someone else's.

Later,

STEVE-O
