This was from Panama City's WMBB's (Channel 13 - ABC) webpage and is newer than the Dec. 18th Tallahassee article. I know you shouldn't believe everything you read but this sounds like the "officials" of PCB are still interested in promoting Spring Break. I don't think it is going away anytime soon.

Tourism Officials Campaign For Spring Break 2005

Officials are in the process of distributing one million brochures to 150 college campuses promoting Spring Break on Panama City Beach. The $400,000 campaign is focusing on college campuses east of the Mississippi that have Spring Break the first week of March since that is typically a slow week. Officials say they expect about 400,000 Spring Breakers this year.

All we can do is hope for the best, but if hurricanes can't knock those condos down, I dunno what will. Hopefully there'll still be hotels that college kids can afford, so we can party with thousands every year. I heard in the gym today that Super Wal-Mart, Red Lobster, and one other buisness recently sold out to Condos.
