Driving Directions Bowling Green,KY FASTEST WAY

COMING FROM WESTERN KY UNIVERSITY!!
Just wanted to see all the possible ways and whats the fastest. I know I usually go into atlanta and then into alabama, trust me if you go through georgia the whole way you are wasting a lot of time. Give me some estimated times on how long it usually takes you, last year I found a little short cut and believe it or not turned that hard *** trip into about 8 hrs or little less.

J.

See ya down there, me and 5 cool F***** guys on the 19th-26th

ChicagoSunt83 will become famous soon enough
I would just take I-65 South. that seems to be the easiest way...then when you get to Montgomery Alabama, Take I-85...go east (towards Atlanta i think?) then get on US-231...and take that south into Panama City.

We're coming from Chicago...and taking the same route down there.

Once you are on 231 get off at Troy,AL(state road AL-167) go to Enterprise, AL and then go to Panama City Beach(state road AL-167 to state road FL-79). You'll save almost an hour of travel time. If you stay on 231 all the way you have to go through panama city which is slower. It is an easy shortcut, if you stay on AL-167 which turns into FL-79 at the state lines it will bring you to the west end of panama city beach. I've taken this way 10-15 times when I go back to visit Illinois.

Also there are usually fewer cops on 167-79, 231 has a cop every 10 or 15 miles(or so it seams) on the drive down and back up during spring break.

The quickest way to go from 65 is to get on highway 331 (exit 168 maybe? It's been a while and I can't quite remember) in Montgomery and follow that all the way to 98, which leads you straight into Panama City Beach.

Just looked this route up on maps.google.com (brand new and really really good by the way!!) and looks like a winner. What are the roads like, and also is the lack of state police made up for in the sadistic local polis on this route.

Squeellin' like a piggy is not how I planned to start thew week!!!!

The local and county cops are easier going compared to the state police, usually. It's only a two lane road, but its smooth and not a lot of people drive this shortcut. I believe the speed limit is 65mph the whole way(between Troy and PCB) so you can run around 70mph and you should be okay.

It probably depends on what day and what time of the day you're traveling. If it's a Friday or Saturday the traffic and cops are always heavier no matter which way you come.

getting on 231 south is probably the EASIEST way for someone who gets lost easy..it's a straight shot..but then again 167 is the way i take into fl-79...i live in dothan,AL (an hour south of troy) and i live right on highway 231 south in dothan and i still get my a** on 167 and take that route..i've been pulled over THREE times by the SAME d*** cop in Cottondale,FL on the way to PC..his name is steve..thats the honest to god truth and the last time he pulled me over he kept my license and insurance card(on accident i'm guessin but he claims he doesn't have it when we called the P-station but i know he kept the d*** thing)so if you get pulled over by him ask for Cody's license.lol.. my advice if you decide to take 231 south..stick your a** to the speed limit going through city's and the small towns. This is where the small towns get alot of their $$$ is buy giving spring breakers tickets..and big a** tickets at that...i've already had a $278 speeding ticket plus i had to make a 30 minute drive to the driver safety school for an 8 hour class which also cost me $30 itself..so thats basically a $308 ticket..so be careful.and have fun..and SORRY FOR THIS LONG A** REPLY..

Thats they way I have been driving for every spring break in Panama City. That is def the best way, just be careful by the Florida Alabama border becuase there are lots of speed traps. The cops always try to nail kids for speeding on FL-79.
