What does the future hold for PCB?!

What will Panama City Beach be like next year? Will this be the last "BIG" year at PCB with all the club closures and condo's going up and what not, it just doesnt seem like the future doesnt hold well for spring break in PCB in my opinion, I'd love to go back bud will things be changing for the better or worse because I enjoyed myself very much this year.

I asked myself the same questions... I def. hope there is a future for Springbreak in Panama City because we're planning to go back next year but I'm not sure if we will with only one or two clubs in the City...

the bottom line is that we have a BEAUTIFUL BEACH that people will want to go to, no matter what. The beach is priceless (unless you're filthy rich and can buy beachfront property), so I'm sure people will continue to come. Hopefully hotels like the Chateau, Holiday Inn, Fiesta, and Sandpiper will stay open and affordable, which I think they will. Nowhere in the world has a beach like we do (trust me, I've been all over the Carribbean). Cancun has a nice beach, but it's usually crowded and you have to have a ****load of money to go, so I'm pretty sure PCB will stay a hotspot for Spring Break for at least another year.

Well it seems the condos are springing up and the clubs are crumbling down, but for me the fun of PCB was the beach and the hotels and it's too much of an established destination to suddenly die in a year.

In 5 years time things may be different though...

I see people renting out condos for the spring breakers.....look at Miami, since PCB seems to be going to the upper class miami crowd, the residents of the condos aren't stupid, they will be renting out to spring breakers

my prediction is that club la vela will be back, and although have a different feel, they will still be a big attraction.

the thing I will miss is the daytime poolside contests....those were pretty sweet.

la vela needed some work though, whether they re did the place in its current position, or relocated.

I was in pcb last year, and this year sucked big time, compared to last year. I still had fun, but I'm won't be back for spring break. The weather sucked at least 4 of the 11 days I was there. Plus the people who ran the clubs were for the most part complete as*holes, I won't ever wait in line for an hour+ again. They make more money by having people inside, not waiting in line in their damn parking lot. I'd be happy to give them an economics lesson. Next year I'm going some place warmer. I didn't go there to wear my sweatshirt and jeans on the beach, I heard the week after mine was a lot better but when you only get to go for a week you cann't just hope its good. I don't know if it is society or what, but people acted way more ghetto this year at PCB too. I was really disappointed.

Yeah this year did suck more than the previous years. There's not much we can do about the weather, but I'd reccommend coming in the Summer when it's 30 degrees warmer every day - you just won't have as many people. I have to disagree about the club bouncers at La Vela anyway, first of all because I am one and second of all because my friends are and most of them are cool. The clubs do need an economy lesson though - especially LaVela. With as much money as they make on cover, drinks, and the biggest population of clubbers every night, they shouldn't be charging more than all the other clubs and not allowing under-21 people to re-enter without paying. We haven't got a satsfying week down here yet, there's always been one day where it rains, it's cold, or it's windy. I was disappointed in the people as well. For like the past 3 years when I weighed 145 pounds, had long hair, acne, and wore skater clothes, I got a lot more play than this year when I'm 165 pounds with style and 2 modelining agencies (there's only one way to make that weight difference by the way). It just seems like more girls were stuck up and more guys were so competitive that they weren't friendly. I reccommend coming in the middle of Summer though opposed to SB when there are still a lot of people down, but virtually no line at the clubs and hotel prices are cheaper. I'll be here for next SB, but probably won't skip class, skip work, and waste gas to drive out to the beach as often.

that pretty much sums up how I think it was too, last year the chicks were awesome, really friendly, and this year they were for the most part completely *****y, I dunno what the problem was. And the guys were competing hardcore for the chicks, I was like hey, there are really only a few chicks worth trying that hard for in the first place. And to all you losers who cock block, you need to get a life before yours gets ended.

no s**t. i am not one to make excuses for myself. this is the 4th time i have been to pcb, and the girls were what was different from any other year. they just seemed different. not as friendly at all. the locals at the hojo were kind of rude also. not to bust on them, but if it wasnt for people on vacation, their jobs would be few are far between

well...

well, this was the first time in 3 years that I was NOT in pcb for spring break! As most of you know I went back to cancun for my spring break! What a change!! Nothing against pcb, but cancun was so much better! I know, its a different country and all that, but everyone was sooooo cool down there! No fights, all the people were cool, no *****y girls, just love for everyone! I enjoyed this spring break so much! But, as far as pcb goes, it sounds like they are trying to change things down there, and I sure hope they do it for the better!! Who knows whats in store for pcb, but I hope the crowds continue to go there, cause I sure had a blast when I was there! enjoy
