Where?
Hey, first time going to PCB for Spring Break, did the Daytona thing last year, and I'm trying to book a hotel for us. But where is central to all the fun? I'm looking at places around the 12000-15000 blocks, but is that a good area, or what? Using Expedia.com. Any especially good advice, drop me a line at cardenv2@uofs.edu or post here, thanks.

Alright, here's the scoop. If you want the center of the action as in right in the middle of the strip, then the Chateau and Days Inn are your best bets. In between the two is Hooters, Latitudes, and Harpoon Harry's. I'm not sure if Harpoon Harry's is gonna be open for spring break or not. Otherwise The Boardwalk and The Summit are on each side of the two super clubs, LaVela and Spinnaker's. The Boardwalk is probably the biggest spring break hotel down there. The Summit is nicer than the Boardwalk, if that is what you are lookin' for, but not as spring break friendly as the Boardwalk. It's still a big SB hotel though 'cause of it's location. Hammerhead Fred's is also right across the street. Otherwise, the Holiday Inn Sunspree is a big SB hotel also. It's not really close to any of the big clubs though which is a major setback in my opinion. There is the Sandpiper too. Not quite as popular as the others, but still a big SB hotel. They are far from everything though, and I wouldn't recommend staying there. I've stayed at the Chateau 3 times and the Holiday Inn once. I absolutely loved the Chateau mainly because of its laid back atmosphere and location. If Harpoon Harry's ends up closing down prior to SB, it might not be as fun though. I was not a fan of the Holiday Inn. The security was very strict and location isn't very good. I'm thinking about staying at the Boardwalk this year because of the location and I've heard nothing but good things about it.
If you want to see the locations of everything, you should download the party map at the PCB Spring Break homepage. Later, STEVE-O |

Well said! I'm sure many people will appreciate your response!
Here's a link to the Spring Break '06 section... And if anyone is still looking for a hotel, try our Hotel Search and see what kind of deal you can get. This early, you will probably find some good ones.... |

hey, I agree with most of everything he said. I have been going to PC for spring break for the past 5 years and 4 of those years I stayed at the Chateau. I absolutely loved the Chateau because, like he said, it has a very laid back atmosphere. It was so funny, one year there were some girls stripping on the balcony and there were some security guards standing behind me and I thought the girls were about to get kicked out or something but the guys just wanted to watch them. They were trying to hide behind me so that the girls would not stop. I was totally shocked. The Chateau is definitely in the middle of all the action and it's decentand has good prices. But the Boardwalk on the other hand is another story. My friends and I stayed there last year. It is a party place but there was not near the action, like the Chateau. Also, it was nasty. Our roof in the bathroom above the shower caved in because it was rotten. It had a leak. My friend took the pieces that had fallen and threw them on the front desk. It was hilarious. I wouldn't recommend the Boardwalk. We were also told that we would have 4 beds in different bedrooms but it ended up being 2 full beds and them a set of bunkbeds, it was horrible. This year we're either going to go to Cancun or Cabo. We're just tired of PC. Don't get me wrong, it's a blast, we just want to go somewhere different.

OK, so its a toss up between the Chateau and the Boardwalk.
If we decided to go to the Chateau is it far to walk to get into La Vela Club or Spinnakers? Which would you go for? |

The Chateau is too far to walk to LaVela and Spinnaker's. It depends if Harpoon Harry's is gonna be open or not. If not, The Boardwalk is your best choice. If it is gonna be open, then the decision is tougher. The being close to the bars is most important, go with the Boardwalk. You will be next door to LaVela and Spinnaker's, across the street from Hammerhead Fred's, and within walking distance to Coyote Ugly and Buckwild Saloon. If you want to be in the middle of the strip, by the shops, and near most the restaurants, go with the Chateau. The SB crowd might be bigger at the Boardwalk, but the Chateau is more laid back. It depends what you are looking for. I've stayed at the Chateau a few times and loved it, but I think we're gonna switch it up this year and stay at the Boardwalk or Summit. You really can't go wrong with either one.

Your welcome. well I hate to say it but it doesn't look like I'll be going to Cabo or Cancun. Some of my friends can't get the money in time so looks like PC again. Well I'll make the best of it! Alcohol and the beach can't exactly not be fun.

Stayed at the Sunspree last year and am going back this year. SteveO is right in sayiing its not right next to any of the big clubs, but nothing compared to the daytime stuff behind the hotel. They also had a free shuttle to all the clubs so you can party your *** off on the way to the clubs. I also went to their website this morning and found out that they are giving free admission into LaVela, Coyote Ugly,Latittudes and some place called Buck Wild - anybody heard of that one? - just by staying there. I got suckered into buying some discount card taht totally sucked last year. The website is www.springbreakpcb.com So stoked! Can't friggin wait!

Last year me and 3 of my buds stayed at Boardwalk. I have always stayed at Beach Tower before then and had a good time. I had always heard good things about Boardwalk and I wanted to try something new. I was very disappointed. First off we got down there to check in at 4:00pm like our email said (it was email because they lost our packet we were to get in the mail). We stood in the check in line for 5 hours. Just like everyone else that was checking in that day did. Well then they gave us the wrong room. We wanted a private balcony and had reserved one but they put us in the one with the walkway. They told us there was nothing we could do so we just stay in that room. We got in so late after leaving home at 7:00am and then finally getting in the room at 9:30pm we didn't really feel like going to a club or anything so we just chilled. We couldn't chill on the walkway because security had yelled at us for having beer bottles outside the room (that's so stupid). Well the rest of the week we never meet anyone new because it seemed like all our neighboors were stuck up pricks. That never happen at Beach Tower. Everyone down there were always friendly and we always meet some new people to hang out with. I do have to give it to Boardwalks beech though, its packed during the day all day with people drinking and having a goodtime. That is the most fun I've had on the beach, but come night, everyone is in their own little clics and don't really care to meet new people.
So i suggest staying somewhere cheap and just go down to the beach during the day behind Boardwalk. If your going in a group bigger then 10, I'd stay at the boardwalk because you probably won't have to meet new people to have fun, but if you're wanting to meet people do not stay at Boardwalk. Its over priced and over rated. I'd suggest Beach Tower, The Chateau, or one of the Best Westerns. They're all close to Harpoon Harry's and that is the best club down there. ___________ Go to bed at 2 with a 10, and wake up at 10 with a 2 !
