Most hotels charge the security deposit when you check into the hotel. They want to make sure their rooms don't get destroyed. During spring break you are gonna have a hard time finding a hotel that doesn't charge security deposit. Even if you book your room on a website, chances are they will charge you a security deposit when you arrive.
