So it's that time again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spring Break 2006!!!!!!!!! Panama City Beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the first report:

Last weekend and last week were great for the superclubs. We talked to Club La Vela who said last weekend was almsot as busy as peak weeks for them. Spinnaker has also had several huge days, including the Beach Bash on Tuesday.

However, the action at the superclubs this past week doesn't really represent the amount of Spring Breakers that were here. It was a fairly slow week (as the first week of Spring Break always is...) but the only clubs that had their plans together and open were Club La Vela and Spinnaker. So the small amount of breakers that were here were concentrated at those two clubs... which made for some pretty big days.

We didn't make it to the D4L and Lil Witness concert at Club La Vela, but they said they had a great turnout and killer concert.

Weather has been great so far... mid 70s for highs and mid 50s for lows all week. Sunny almost every day. But we could have a cold snap at any time, so be sure and bring at least one set of warm clothes with you. Ten day forecast from weather.com is looking good.

Nothing much happening on the beach right now, but all of the sponsor action (tents, giveaways, contests, etc) begins this weekend. National sponsors and marketing groups are setting up right now behind hotels and clubs to begin their promotions for the group of breakers arriving this weekend!

Wow! The weather has been AWESOME! Highs in the 70s this past weekend and maybe in the 80s this week! Lots of sun! And we've got the photos to prove it! These Spring Break pics were taken on the beach behind Harpoon Harrys... check 'em out!

We should have some video for you guys real soon. And this is just the tip of the iceberg! The crazy weeks are coming up soon!

mtvU has arrrived and set up stage behind The Summit! Concerts begin Wednesday with Matchbook Romance and Lil Wayne.

Club Wal Mart was packed this weekend (you guys think I'm kidding, but you'll meet more breakers in Wally World than you will any of the clubs...)

The Superclubs both had a good weekend, although the action was a little more spread out now that the other clubs have their programs running.

The Sposnsors have all set up behind the hotels and clubs... and are giving away tons of free stuff. Check it out on Spinnaker's Spring Break Live Cam.

We'll be tagging along with Club Hour for tomorrow night's Pub Crawl (always a highlight of Spring Break!) and should have some great photos and videos for you...

(wally world is walmart... sorry for the confusion.)

I know this may seem like a silly question, but the Walmart by me is always running out of stuff. Does the walmart in PCB ever run out of liquor? Don't they only sell beer or do they sell hard liquor too? I just need to make sure we'll be able to buy stuff like hypnotic, petron, vodka, etc. Or should we just bring it with us? Are there any liquor stores in the area that sells that kind of stuff?

The walmart is fully stocked with beer, Don't worry about them running out, and there is a liquor store IN walmart. No fears!

We always bought our liquor last year at some huge liquor store next to walgreens they have tons and tons everything. Also Ms. Newsby's down past spinnaker has a good variety, but i would def go with the one by walgreens.

How do prices compare at the liquor stores down there compared to back home?

wuddup yall! i got back from panama city yesterday..everyday was in the mid 70's and sunny. I had an aweseom time! the boardwalk security is tight with underage drinkin so be aware...club la vela which in my opinion is the worst club there..sometiems cover was 30 bucks and shots are 5 bux and mixed drinks were 5.50..and they dont take plastic there at all unless u want them to take out 150 dollars as a security deposit for your tab then 3 days later after your minimum 50 dollar tab u get refunded the security deposit..and if u plan on gettin money out of the atm there is a 7.50 service charge at club lavela's ATM.personally i cant wait to see it torn down. the panamaniac card is a good thing to use but the free beer and cruzan rum drinks are horrible...if u plan on getting drunk for free id reccoment being there the entire time the free drinks are there, because thats how long it is going to take you. other than that the atmosphere was amazing! hammerhead freds and sharky's was probably one of the best tiems i had there! if yall were there for the first spring break week I was one of the NC guys representin with the "serious fun ahead" sign and the grass skirts...beer bongs were tolerated at the beach but not in the hotel. Ive met soo many aweseome people from michigan and canada and ohio that even tho it was the "slow" spring break week..it was the best one i have EVER had...so only 262 days left till spring break 07!!!

You can always go at 7pm for $5 and get a stamp so you can go there later. That is what we did a few times.

In my opinion lavela is the most overated club down there by far, its a joke.

...12 hours flying....10 hours by car...
...and we ll be there!!!!

Aside from the underage drinking problem, how was the boardwalk hotel? Was it as hype as everone says it's supposed to be? Did they insist on wristbands and how tight was security?

Ahhh... sunny and 78 degrees! If you're not here, well... you SHOULD BE! The weather is still AWESOME and the parties are WILD!

Lots more people on the beach during the day, and the clubs are starting to fill up! It's gonna be CRAZY the next 2-3 weeks as peak weeks are just around the corner!

Luke will have a full report on last night's Pub Crawl shortly. We just reviewed the photos from last night and we'll have them posted soon (at least the ones that aren't X-Rated! ) Let me just say that if you get the chance to go on the Pub Crawl... YOU SHOULD!

PUB CRAWL: Happens every Tuesday during Spring Break. You can get tickets or more info at Harpoon Harry's after 6pm. Or if you see a SunQuest or Panamaniac/Gold Card representative, you can ask them for more info. DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! You'll be glad you did! You'll spend an hour each at 5 bars, CRAZY and WILD bus rides in between, some free drinks, t-shirts, etc and an experience you won't forget! Not sure what the cost is (it's FREE for us!) but if we find out, we'll post it here. We'll also have a great Club Hour video of last night's Pub Crawl up within the next few days...

P.S. For all the talk about Club La Vela being overrated, I disagree completly. Yes, I know they are a client of ours and you may think my opnion is biased, but I had tons of fun at CLV way before I started working here. They consitently carry the best touring bands and DJs from around the nation. They've got enough theme rooms to satisfy everyone's needs, and they have THE BEST Spring Break contests on the Beach. Cover can get pretty high at times, and if you catch them on a night when the girl-to-guy ratio is way off, you may feel let down, but that can happen at any of the clubs. If you're not sure about CLV, go during the day when there is no cover and check out all the action. If you like it, try it again that night. Look for cover specials to help you save a few bucks.
