What a shame that this whole forum sight has very little action except for this Spring Break thread! This forum sight needs to be filled up with more family oriented things as PC Beach used to be! If anyone has ever seen or been to MTV Spring Break, they will see a good example of the type of things that go on. Glad I don't rent a motel room down there anywhere and stay where it is a higher class of people! The kids need to know and realize there is more to PC Beach than drinking and other things I won't mention. Waverunners, scooters, nice restaurants, etc., heck, at my age I enjoy putt putt golf and go cart rides! More of you young people need to read this!

While I agree it's nice to see more than just Spring Break stuff here on TripSmarter, I think the breakers deserve their due. (Note: I'm not one.) For six weeks out of the year, the town turns upside down, brimming with college kids from all over. I'm pretty sure it's a huge boost to the economy, and I'm guessing MTV did a little something to put this beautiful stretch of beach on the map.

Spring Break just wrapped up in April, kids are still posting their pictures and planning their summer vacations, so these threads are still naturally active. :)

As new events and exhibits open, the moderators and members post about them. (Like the Ripley's post)....

Trishben, I agree somewhat. But when the girls go bearing certain parts of their anatomy toward the cameras where they are forced to blur it out, then you know they probably are willing to go farther. When you have probably 6 to 8 in a room with equal guys and girls, well you know what probably goes on! I'm not saying that is the case with all of them as there are the many Christian retreats through PC Beach and some of the kids I am sure that are there but not utilizing the Christian retreats may behave themselves, I stress may! We were down one year around 4th of July. Boy, were they acting like a bunch of hooligans. But PC Beach and the whole panhandle do not need MTV putting them on the map. They were popular spots way before that. Do you think reading these so called drunk stories they have posted on here is impressive! I think not! Sure they make big bucks with the springbreakers but they also bring in alot of money from couples and also families with their children. So all the money doesn't come exclusively from Springbreakers. We spend alot ourselves down there and it is just me and my husband.

<shrug> I guess it just doesn't bother me. Like Key West, it's big enough for everyone. Life is short, enjoy it while you can.

There is? Like what? Waverunners and scooters are just as annoying as drunk college kids. You make the choice to bring your family into town at the time spring break is happening. Wait until your kids are in college and want to go the spring break. All you can do is hope they don't decide to be on TV.
