You might wanna take a look at the Days Inn prices...209$ a night with the kitchenette with AAA membership, didn't find cheaper for what you get at this time of the year. Not as close as the chateau, boardwalk, summit, though

Days Inn | Panama City Beach Florida Hotel | Panama City Beach, FL 32407 | Near Banana Boat - next door, Fishing Piers - nearby & Award-winning golf courses - 1.5 miles

Just read the fine print and make sure you don't have to be atleast 25yo to check in, cuz I found plenty of good deals too...that didn't apply to people of my young age!

If cheap is what you need, try the plaza motel on front beach rd. at least you will be on the strip.

The biggest parties during the day are infront of the Boadwalk, Spinnaker, Lavela and the Holiday Inn.....the chateau also has stuff during the day but the biggest is def in front of the Boardwalk where mtv will be set up

Some (maybe obvious) questions from a first-timer...

1. The parties on the beach everyone is talking about; are these organised things? Like does a hotel provide a DJ or something? Or is it just a general gathering?

2. Drinking (lets say cans of beer) on the beach/on the street. Yay or nay? We're all over 21.

3. Say I'm talking to someone in a club, and I don't know that they're under 21. I buy them a drink - am I in the ****?

4. I'm kinda blown away by the sheer number of clubs/nights/offers... are there people going round giving out flyers on the streets/beach during the day? Is it worth hitting them for money off/free drinks etc?

5. This might be a European thing; in the major holiday nightspots there are always people out on the street trying to pull you into their bar/club, and you can usually get a load of free drinks or buy-one-get-one-free off them. Are they about in PCB?

6. What do you need to wear for the clubs? I see that some of the posher rooms require a shirt, nice trousers etc. What about generally - jeans & trainers? shorts & sandals?

Apologies if any of these seem stupid... call it a culture thing!

1. Most of the major hotels will have hotel only parties. like pool parties and stuff. the clubs will have parties but the admision is usually free during the day. Some hotels do have djs. Each year is different but the major hotels will have something going on that u most likely need a wrist band on to get in.
2. Beach drinking...i think u will get arrested if u dont drink.. on the street..not wise...they are very strict about it.
3. buying underagers drinks at the bar...you can tell how old they are by the wrist band or the hand stamp. players dont buy girls drinks!
4. free stuff! reps will be walking around all day. booths will be set up. do it all.
5. normally they dont have to pull u into the club. thats where everybody goes at night...or most of them. They have free drinks but only certain hours and if u have a certain card...vip card, rockstar card or panamanic card ect...
6. the clubs arent strict about the dress code unless u go into some of the vip rooms. they usually require a button up shirt, belt and nice shoes. not worth the hassle if u ask me.

I'm adding to subtitle101's answer,

the beach parties are just gatherings and are not organized at all other than the booths and stages set up by MTV and all the other vendors. If people are partying on the beach, feel free to join them!

Cheers for the answers guys - its all little stuff, but don't want to look like an idiot on the first day, y'know? In some ways anyway

As for buying drinks in clubs, I pretty much meant if we meet a group of people in the day, go out together & I get a round in. I don't go round buying random girls drinks!
