Whats up guys! I'm new to this forum but i've been reading this forum for about a month or two. I've been to club la vela before but i wasn't really paying attention to how they do the drinking policy. Do they use wristbands to identify 21+? Or how do they do it? Any comments are appreciated. Thanks

The last time I was there they used stamps. They had stamp for over 21 and a stamp for under 21.

Do they switch out stamps every so often? and do you remember what the stamp was? like shape or words?

I think they switch it up every night . Those nights are kinda blurry and I cant really remember. Sorry..........

Most bartenders will i.d. you at the bar if you look young. I wouldn't try to fake a stamp... it really wouldn't be worth it.

I worked there 2005-2006 and I'm pretty sure the policy hasn't changed. The stamps change every night for over 21 and go on your left hand. The stamp for under 21 stays the same and goes on both hands. The bartenders don't check as often as the security team (which there will be about 50 of each night), so if you do the math, you pretty much won't get away with drinking underage at La Vela at night. Being the largest nightclub in the USA with a history of lawsuits, the law will not be compromised under La Vela's roof. There are plenty of ways to have fun without breaking the law (or getting caught anyway). I, personally, like to see my friends get hammered and lose their game, in which case, I end up with all the girls.

There will be about 4 guys from the security team in the parking lot as well, so if you drink there, you probably want it in 7/11 or Burger King cup.

Also, in the club, some colors of cups have alcohol and some don't, so don't try to tell the security team that your drink doesn't have alcohol when it obviously does.

Oh nah i'm 21 so i won't be breaking the law. But heres the thing, my liscen got suspended so i'm stuck with my passport. Do you think it'll be a problem for me getting in with my passport?

I know La Vela takes passports!

yeah lavela definitely uses stamps. one for over and one for under. and they switch it every night from what i can remember. and they will for sure id you at the bar if the stamp even half way looks like you put it on yourself... also they have people in the bathrooms undercover and they will kick you out of you are washing your stamp off, with no refund. its happened to a couple of my friends so dont be caught doing that for sure. underage drinking in the clubs in panama is definitely not recommended... pre drink for sure.
