Spring Break by the Numbers

Here are a few interesting facts about Spring Break. We'll try and post a few more each week. Feel free to add some yourself if you run across any.

Bay County Advertising Campaign for Spring Break 2007: $475,000
Estimated Students to visit PCB during Spring Break 2007: 300,000
Estimated income for Bay County from Spring Break 2007: $60 million

* is it just me or does that ad budget seem a little small for the amount of income produced by spring break.
** numbers are from a news broadcast on WMBB tonight

We actually did some math one year to determine how much beer and liquor would be consumed during SB. I'll see if I can find that thread...

I don't know where you've been swimming, but 65 degrees is frigid. 70-72 is the lowest most people even think of getting in water. 80 is about average.

cwindie7 will become famous soon enough
65 degrees is in no way frigid especially if the suns out. It's the ocean, not a heated pool. It's not warm but it'd definitely swimmable.

If the water is usually around 65 degrees during springbreak then thats freezing. I actually thought it was prolly colder than that. I guess thats what you get tho when u visit the ocean at the beginning of march.

the water at PCB is not even close to warm enough, it is completely different down by Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Much much warmer. If you wanted to get a good handle on the alcohol consumption it would be cool to see how much beer the Wal-mart by the strip sells in march
