March Madness
Ok, so I realize this is not on everyones mind, but the 15th of March the NCAA tournament starts and I wouldn't mind tipping a few back and catching some games. Can anyone recommend or does anyone know of a place that has some big screens and will be showing games?
thanks |

Calypso's is the best sports bar on the beach, just go early or you won't get a seat. The sports bar is in the back where they have 6 or 7 big screens plus a bunch of other tv's all over the place. There are a few other big screens scattered around the front too. Plus of the 5 or 6 sports bars they have the best food, too.
Look at the 2007 SB party map and Calypso's is at the west end of the beach. It's on Front Beach Road. Hammerhead Fred's is okay for a second choice, but the food isn't as good. |

Thanks! I can't tell how far down that is. I can't tell what the scale of the map is. It could be 1 mile or 10. Either way, I'll check one of them out, both days, bracket in one hand, beer in the other.

I went to Pineapple Willy's before and enjoyed that. They have pretty good food too.

the pic on thier website looked like they had one 27 inch TV in the corner... but if you've been there, that's obviously a better indication. i appreciate the advice.

Pineapple Willy's sucks for games, imo. But if you go there it'll do.
Like I said I think Calypso's and Hammerhead Fred's are better viewing experiences. |

Get the internet on your cell phone, I'm not missing out on the beach to sit in some bar and watch tv unless it is filled with hot babes. You can catch highlights while you're getting ready for the night.

I hear what you're saying and I agree with you in principle. I probably won't watch too much of it, just a few games (as opposed to my usual, ALL the games) but I simply cannot miss the Syracuse game. Even if it were at midnight on Saturday night, I'd have to watch it.
Sad I know... but what can I say? |
