I've gone to a few spring breaks. Normally I go to Club La Vela's bikini contests, but in 2005 I discovered HammerHead Fred's which only opens as a club during spring break. If you think the La Vela contests are wild...MAN! HammerHead's has them beat big time. Unfortunately, I haven't gone since 2005.

Is this still the case? Do they convert their restaurant into a club at night? Do they still have the wild contests?

Hammerhead's is across the street from the beach right? We went there 1 time and it was kind of lame. First of all there weren't that many girls there and then they pulled a lot of them up on stage, so then there were even less girls in the crowd. It was a decent show, for standing amongst a ton of guys just to look at girls.

La Vela's bikini contest during the day is good and bad, they have decent girls, but they draw the frikkin thing out so long to try and get you to buy beers that you end up sitting around a lot of the time.

NiceGuy, im with you. I went to Hammerhead back in 2005 also and it was the wildest thing I have been to yet! Yea they open as a club during spring break and rent a tent as big as their building is. Last year we went a little later than the year before and there was NOTHING going on. I'll make sure I'm there this year! Pm me and I can give you details from my experience.

usually during SB almost no one is in the water at the pool at La Vela, it is a little on the chilly side.

I have to say that Kristin is making me happier and happier that I bought a platinum pass at La Vela every time she posts!

In the past 4 years during peak week at springbreak I have never seen a wet t shirt contest or bikini contest at la vela that looked like that. I would guess something special was going on that day because if that was during spring break i have def gone the wrong days to the contests there. I havent been to a contest at Hammerhead's since my first year there 4 years ago, but I have to say I have never had that much fun at one in my life and prolly will never again. I just remember being in the very front with my buddies when they walked out on some type of runway thing. Most were wearing skirts and I know there were atleast 20 hands up there everytime one came out. Best wet t shirt contest ever, and plus at La Vela they dont let everything go like they do at hammerheads.

That makes me want to stay at La Vela more...

I've been to LaVela's and Hammerhead's before. Both were pretty boring. The only one that really made my jaw drop was Latitudes. They let anything go.

there's no such thing as a bad wet-t contest. some are just better than others. like someone else mentioned it depends on the night, the girls, the guy with the mic, the crowd and if the heat has been heavy. cops usually make at least one or two busts each year which kills the contests for a few nights. throw in a lame crowd, lame girls or a lame master of ceremonies and it could just end up being an average wet-t contest. some clubs are known to push the envelope a little more though.

neither place compares to latitudes wet tshirt contests!! Hands down the wildest I have witnessed while there! It comes close to beating cancuns contests!!

Wait, I might be confusing myself. Maybe it was Harpoon Harry's. It's the place across the street from La Vela. At La Vela's contests, they don't allow nudity because it's outdoors and teenagers are allowed to see it.

However, at Harry's (or Hammerheads - not sure which one), those girls can get naked and walk around the club if they want. I've seen it!

As far as Lattitudes, isn't that the club that won't let you take cameras in?

Hammerhead Fred's is across the street from LaVela. Latitudes is next to Hooter's and everytime I've been there, people have been using cameras all over the place without a problem.

That's odd. I've gone to PCB a few times, and have usually stayed in the Days Inn. Not once have I ever seen Lattitude's open. But yet, I hear so much about it every year.

ya, latitudes is right next to harpoon harry's and by hooters! Huge steps going up to it, great place!
