I'm still a little tipsy from last night but I'll try my best. Yesterday despite the low temperatures and wind gusts we ended up heading out to the beach around 2PMish. At Spinnaker, we noticed what looked like a portable rock stage with Guitar Hero Rock band set up. Guitars, drums, and a microphone. They were letting groups of people people go up there and play songs, so they basically provided a variety live music all day in the parking lot which was awesome. On the Spinnaker deck they had beer pong set up. $4 a pitcher and $1 beers so we quickly capitalized on that. We headed over to the Club La Vela bikini and wet t-shirt contest which was pretty awesome considering there were only about 100 people out there compared to the usual 500 or so. A few guys were so drunk they were diving into the freezing pool for free t-shirts! We never made it to dinner on account of our livers fighting back.
Last night was absolutely insane. We hopped in the car (with a sober designated driver of course) and picked up 32oz. drinks from the gas station. Filled them 2/3 with soda and 1/3 with rum. It took so long to drive down the strip on account of all the traffic so we actually finished them in about 30 minutes or so. If at all possible, avoid Front Beach road and west Thomas drive after 7PM. We saw two girls walking down the strip and on a drunken impulse my buddy says, "HEY you girls need a ride?" I was thinking it wasn't going to happen but after talking to them for a minute or so, they hopped in. Behind us we heard loud honking and "WOOOO!!" The girls were hot. They said they were going to Spinnaker so we said "Wow what a coincidence that is where WE are going." We got there around 8:15PM with the girls and the line was huge. Don't get there at 8:15. Get there at 7. Guitar Hero Rock band was still set up, so we had entertainment waiting in line. We ended up getting to the front around 9:02PM and the doorman still honored the "Free entry 7-9" policy on the Panamaniac card for us. JACKPOT.
Not that I would ever promote underage drinking, but we had a clever system aiding the youngest member of the crew in consuming "special beverages". Our oldest member carried a flask of "special mix". The youngest ordered a coke for $2. The oldest passed him the flask in the bathroom and he filled up. 21 and over get free re-entry so the oldest went out to the car, got a refill, and repeated the process. The entire night was kind of a blur but to throw out some statistics, among the three of us, we probably danced with 15 girls and kissed around 25. Actually let's go with 20 since there was some drunken overlappage. The night ended, um, successfully and before calling it a night we went to Waffle House around 6AM.
The moral of the day: Never underestimate the possibilities of drunk and friendly Spring Breakers.
It's supposed to be a beautiful and warmer day at the beach so I anticipate the beach to be... supple. I'm off to drink a gallon of water and take a nap before heading out to the beach. I'll keep ya posted.
