Sure! You wouldn't want to drunkenly run over someone in your OWN car, would you? Rentals come in handy for that sort of thing.

Cars
It really depends on where you stay if you need a car. If you are staying at the Boardwalk or Summit and plan to go to La Vela and Spinnaker every night you would be ok without a car. Myself, I would never be down there without a car b/c there is alot of stuff to do down there that you couldn't walk to.

The only time we used our car last year was pretty much to go to walmart and get beer and food and stuff. At night we never even attmepted to drive anywhere because the strip was so backed up it was quicker for us to walk everywhere. We are still debating on renting a car this year but I think were leaning toward not renting one. If you can get a good deal on a car id say get it but having a car down there is only a convenience not a necessity

The strip will be packed at night but it's still possible to use a car to get around. During the day you will be fine. The only times that the day is crowded is Saturdays and that's because of all the people checking in/out of the hotels. Should you choose to drive to clubs at night, go as early as possible. Never use Front Beach Rd (AKA The Strip) at night or you will be stuck for hours. Instead use Middle Beach Rd, it runs parallel to the strip.

If you're looking for a hobby...may I suggest submitting restaurant reviews? It's almost as much fun as posting in the forums!
