when i was down there last year i saw a few hotels being built most of them by the gas station at the Y on the strip close to pineapple willies(front b. & thomas dr.). does anybody know if they are done and are they going to be the new party hotels once they are done?

i know this isn't mush of anything but trying to keep the board moving with new stuff.

i was wondering the same thing... they were building like 15 new ones

Good topic dubbz, I havent heard of any, however I am not a local. I do know they are building a LOT of new condos and tearing down hotels. Trying to make pcb more of a family oriented city rather than a party city, I know thats the direction the city is trying to go. Hard to take the party out of pcb!!!

The ones at the Y you are talking about look to be near completion. We rode by this weekend checking them out and I didn't see anything as far as a Grand Opening date so you never know. I do know one of the buildings has units for sale and has had them for sale since last year. This past September we drove up to the top of the parking deck of the one thats across the street (not to the right of Pineapple Willy's if you're facing PW's but behind you) and at the top of the parking deck there was a pool. I'll have to drive to the top again and take some pictures.

MOst of those buildings in that area are part of the Laketown Wharf complex. Condos, retail, restaurants, amphitheater and more.

They were scheduled to already be open, but there have been delays. Rumor is they didn't pre sell enough condos and are low on funds to complete the project on time. I don't think they've even been issued a occupancy certificate yet.

Here are 2 mega hotels I was wondering about. The Shores of Panama is the first one. You can see how it trumpts Pineapple Willys which is on the right corner of the pic.



There is another hotel which everyone has seen and has been wondering about for the past few years which is Laketown Wharf. Its on S Thomas Dr right in front of Captin Andersons restaurant.

I don't think these will be the next party hotels but they are insane looking.

Shores of Panama might have a chance of being something like the Boardwalk Condominiums and might be a pretty decent party place once units start being sold and people start renting them out to Spring Breakers. I see Laketown Warf being more family oriented though. But you never know, and only time will tell.

You can almost see the Gulf if you're driving by Pineapple Willy's. Quick, someone build a condo on top of it!

As far as I know they are both strictly condominiums, plus from looking at the floor plans I don't see any hotel rooms. Hopefully they'll get things going soon and open them up so people can rent them out for Spring Break and stuff.

I really doubt that the Shores of Panama would become the next spring break party hotel but could you imagine if it did! Being able to see everyone from their balconys, all the noise we could make, all the chaos that could be created. No place would compare! Oh well, doesn't hurt to dreams...

that would be tight...if they had a dj out there playin some bangin music..i could see the pool turning into a day club ...i would never leave the pool/beach/room

the people that own it are Sterling Resorts, just google them and you can get in contact with them...
