PC History
There were a couple of old postcards from Panama City floating around the office, we thought everyone might get a kick out 'em.

ahh, those were the days....
If anyone has ever looked into the history of attactions on Panama City Beach, or better yet lived here in the late 70's/early 80's... you'd know that Panama City has always been a wild place. Just imagine...Two theme parks a mere mile from each other (Miracle Strip & Petticoat Junction) The Starliner at Miracle Strip was THE rollercoaster in Florida before Disney World Petticoat's famed wooden carousel was built near Philadelphia, PA in 1922 by a master wood carver, and survives to this day at Peddler's Village in Lahaska, PA Oh.. that's not all. How about a giant smoking volcano paradise, complete with jungle women armed with spears, a huge replica of dracula's castle in Transylvania that housed a horror wax museum, a Wild West Town, or rides along and above the beach in sky buckets? Oh and how about a round of golf at a circa 1959 miniature golf course? The history of attractions at the beach is truly fascinating and to urban explorers and kitch archeologists, signs of many of the old attractions can still be found.. if you know where to look! :D ________ Vapor Brothers |
