We went to Pier Park today for lunch and we took a few pics. The German Beer Garden is going to be a favorite of mine I think.

I was impressed so far... PCB has needed something like this for a long time.

You Spring Breakers make sure you show some love to Pier Park... might be a nice change of pace for a few hours if you need a break from the craziness. Plus, good eats! (esp. Five Guys Burgers!) :thumbsup"

I'll def. be checking it out either this weekend or next. Glad you guys went already b/c I was wondering about the German Beer Garden.

Can someone try and give me a ballpark location for where this place is at...we usually just eat at applebees while we are down there, but will def check this place out if we can find it

Between Sharky's and Sandpiper Beacon.

It's definitely not walking distance form the main strip.

But, well worth the drive. Especially since there is also a Target there.. in case you need supplies. Also a Grand Theater in case you'd rather watch some lame movie than party like a rockstar.

Looks like alot has changed since the last time i was there....took one year off of springbreak and i feel like im not even gonna recognize pcb when we get down there this year

yay! i LOVE five guys, i go there when i'm in Philly! the best hamburgers.. that's awesome! i'm definitely going to eat there!!

Anyone who has ever been to a German beer garden knows it is one hell of a time. Huge mugs of beer, polka band (may sound lame but you can't help but dance ), and some great food, you can't go wrong

Like many of the Pier Park shops, Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries was packed with customers Sunday afternoon. The store is one of nearly 20 shops that opened during the past few days.

"Need to hire probably about 20 more people just to keep up with what we have," said Andy Miller, owner.

With the slower economy, only time will tell if the success will last, but Pier Park officials say they're confident the stores will continue to rake in the business.

"Despite some concerns about the economy our merchants seem to be happy. We've offered an entire new venue for panhandle visitors with the restaurants and dining and some unique shops that they will have that don't exist elsewhere in the panhandle," said t. Cowart, pier park property manager.

Locals say the shopping center will become a major attraction for Bay County once it's complete.

"I think it will give tourists something to do in the day other than going to the beach and hanging out by the pool," said Ashley Rader, a Bay County resident.

And visitors seem impressed so far.

"It's fantastic. It really is," said Luann Schratter, an Atlanta, Georgia resident.

Two of the large department stores, JC Penney and Dillard's, are scheduled to open the first week of March. They'll be followed by Old Navy and Borders, and from now until May the other merchants are set to open periodically.
