It's that time again! Spring Break 2008! It's a little chilly today...but it's supposed to be in the 70's this weekend.

The 70's! In February! It's going to be great beach weather for the handful of Canadian breakers or so that are already here...and surely, even better beach weather by the time the rest of you guys get down here.

Speaking of the beach...I've attached a screenshot from the Spinnaker beach live cam. As you can see, Spring Break preparations are being made. Rumor has it that a new party deck is being constructed! By the way, Spinnaker re-opens on Friday (the 29th) and the remodeling they've done looks amazing!

This year looks to be bigger and better than ever. MTVU is coming to town and bringing with them an amazing line-up of concerts that seems to include new names everyday. Here's how it looks so far:

- Paramore - March 13th, 2008

- Flo Rida- March 13th, 2008

- Kid Sister- March 18th, 2008

- Panic at the Disco - March 19th, 2008

- Cobra Starship- March 19th, 2008

Lupe Fiasco and We the Kings are also scheduled to appear, but no dates have been announced.

Other national acts will be performing including Yin Yang Twins, Puddle of Mudd, and Chevelle. For a complete list of all concerts and events in the area during Spring Break, check out our Concerts and Events page.

We thought we'd take things up a notch this year too! TripSmarter.Com has launched a 24/7 Spring Break Channel so that you can keep an eye on all things Spring Break in Panama City Beach! We'll be streaming "Club Hour on Spring Break" footage and various other Spring Break programs all Spring Break long! But that's not all, we'll also be broadcasting LIVE from various locations, including the superclubs, poolside contests, the beach and more during Peak Weeks! We'll be announcing a complete schedule very soon.

That's about it for now. We'll be updating this thread very often with new events, concerts, contests, weather reports, photos, and much more. We invite you to do the same!

ah. i keep checking the weather for panama city and its in the 60's! that's not spring break weather :-( does it usually get warmer within the next couple of weeks?? I'm going on the 15th! Thanks

I'm going that week as well and the record highs for days that week are in the low 80's. I'm guessing you could expect the weather to be in the 70's probably?

Yea the weather is usully in the mid 70's but it always feels warmer than it actually is.

It's just been announced that Flo Rida will be performing at Club La Vela on the 25th...and Chevelle/Finger 11 will be at the Swamp in Destin on the 24th.

Woohoo!!! It's officially here!
Spring Break '08 in Panama City Beach!

The weather was great this weekend! Sunny and around 70 degrees both days! It's a little windy today, but another warm day to enjoy the beach!

Looks like we'll get a little rain tonight or tomorrow morning, then back to sunny days in the 60's and 70's. It'll stay just cool enough at night to be comfortable partying all night.

This week will be a little slow, but not too bad. Everything is building up to the 2 peak weeks in mid-March (10th-14th & 17th-21st)

On schedule this week:

- All of the clubs have begun their daily and nightly promotions.

- Club La Vela Beach Party today!

- Club La Vela Poolside contests every day this week!

- Spinnaker's beer pong, .25 cent margaritas, $1 drafts, etc all started this weekend and last throughout Spring Break.

- Sandpiper's Tiki Bar begins their daily bikini contests @ 2pm and nightly parties w/ DJ Donna

- Sharky's Beach Party on Tuesday! Beer, pizza, contests and more!

- Puddle of Mudd at Club La Vela on Tuesday night, March 4th (we MIGHT go to this show and get some photos...)

- Pop Evil and Gabby Johnson are playing at Spinnaker this week.

- Sharky's and Club La Vela both have Foam Partes on Thursday night!


PLUS LOTS MORE HAPPENING ALL WEEK!

We'll update daily and let you know what's going on. If we shoot any video or take photos, we'll post them here ASAP. Hopefull the we'll get in a contest or two this week w/ some good footage and photos!

SB08!

Randy from Club Hour reports that Spinnaker was packed shoulder-to shoulder Sunday night and they had a blast. Harpoon Harry's had a small crowd early that probably got much bigger later in the night. Hopefully we'll have some footage or photos from last weekend up soon.

Man, last night was one helluva storm. Literally, it was like a hurricane! BUT it's blown through and the sun is already back out. We'll be a little cooler than we were this past weekend, but warming back up to the 70's by the end of the week.

ALSO, we just found out that a "Grammy Award Winnig Artist" will be performing at Spinnaker next week. That's all they would tell us about this mystery concert... we'll see if we can find out more./

AND last... we're not putting it on the official schedule, but we may break in with a live broadcast on our Spring Break Channel this weekend sometime. We'll announce it in the forums if we nail down a time.

Usually outside, although Boardwalk has held a few concerts in their ballroom in the past.

Daytime will def be outside.
