I just thought it was cool that they had a rockband booth others etc, a stage setup, and everything. I'm sure we'll get a better look today with the live ts feed.

More on this actually it appears that MTV has breached their contract with PCB and actually went to "Sunny Isles Beach, Fla., for the hottest, most decadent party this side of the equator". Sunny Isles Beach is just north of Miami's south beach. This is where all the Spring break game shows and live coverage will be taking place such as "Tila Tequila's Spring Break Fantasy Couple" and "Pretty Smart". PCB only has MTVu, but we do get the televised performances. I guess the city of PCB paid $200,000 to get MTV to show up, and make Panama City Beach their exclusive spot for spring break...MTV shady...

MTV is broadcasting their Spring Break coverage for only two days, March 22 and 29, funny though it seems to me most of SB is over by that point. Also you should be able to checkout all the MTVu performances online, which is cool, so even when you get home you can see yourself(maybe) in the crowd.

Yea, it was actually you saying that you found the MTVu village very unimpressive that got me thinking...so I did some research apparently MTV just put that up last night(about their SB)...

It doesn't really change much. The performances are still coming, although StudentCity can't say they'll have exclusive passes to game shows because there won't be any.

Theres some threads on it, but last year MTVU backed out at the last minute and decided to go somewhere else leaving a lot of people mad and scrambling to change their reservations and plans. I can't remember exactly why they decided to change their location, but it left a lot of people with a sour taste in their mouth.

Way to do your research fumus....what a joke im tired of mtv as well....thats some shady stuff though I hope something happens to them because of this.....No one goes to Miami for spring break, its not a spring break location so why do they feel the need to go there when there will be 90% less people?

And sorry Jason but personally I think studentcity is a complete joke/rip off....they always act like if you book thru them you are going to have all these great benefits when the average spring breaker gets the same benefits they just don't know about them yet because they haven't been to pcb before.....and if they don't overcharge people for their room then how is studentcity even in business because they have to make money somehow

Yea it's really messed up but, we will still get some live performances and it's not really going to change my plans as far anything goes. I just chose the BW because MTV was supposed to behind me for half my trip, now it seems I'll have a day of performances and some tents. Which is cool, I'm sure it's gonna be just as awesome, I mean the beers aren't any cheaper and the girls aren't any hotter when MTV is there...

Yes, of course studentcity is a ripoff. I have said in other threads, studentcity is the lazy college students way of spring breaking. If you don't feel like doing the research you can call them up, and they'll sorta give you the low down on the places to stay and sell you a place(at 200 or 300 more than what it's worth), give you a package, and a routine to follow.

It's good for novice breakers/travelers because the student city reps really do take care of you and make sure you get to the right places, pick you up when you need it. They overcharge but, they give do give you some service and if something gets messed up you at least have recourse with someone.

mtv is ridiculous, and that's super shady that they're backing out on what they committed to earlier.

at the same time, I don't think this is unprecedented. I'm pretty sure that none of last year's spring break shows were taped in cancun, which is where mtvU was last year. plus, I don't really give a s**t about mtv anyways, as long as I get the concerts

Yea I could give a **** less about mtv as well. I think out of the 3 times I have been there that mtvu has showed up only ONE concert sticks out in my mind that was well worth waiting all day for and that was OAR...Every other groupt/artist played a few songs and peaced out.....OAR finished and everyone chanted for them to come out and they came back and played a bunch more, left again everyone started chanting again and i think they came back out and said **** it its springbreak and played a bunch more...thoes guys earned my respects that was cool as hell
