Cooler on beaches?

Me and my buddy are going to spring break for our first time. We're both 20. Is it okay to just bring a cooler down to the beach full of beer? Keep it in a koozy? Put it in something else? How strict is everything down there? also.... can you smoke in the clubs? on the beaches? what's the deal there?

Bring whatever on the beach. Just no glass containers. Police aren't on the beach and if they are (very rarely), they don't ID anyone drinking on the beach.

Just because the cops aren't noticeably present, don't let that fool you. If some one gets out of control or does something that's going to bring attention to your group...you may see the cops

The Party Ball must only be at the Walmart on the beach b/c I haven't seen it in town yet.
