Guys - last Spring Break we saw a huge spike in the number of mobile browsers visiting our website, and this year we want to put together something useful for you folks visiting Tripsmarter on your mobile device.

We're looking for input on what features you'd most like access to quickly.

So far we've got:

- Multi-category serach (turns up results for forums, business listings, videos and articles)

- Spring Break party map (mobile version)

- Quick link to SB Forums (mobile version)

- SB videos (encoded to work even on the iphone)

- SB channel (so you can see what's going on LIVE!!!) [although we'll need Apple to add the Flash plugin for viewing on the iphone]

- Event/party schedule


What else?????

I'll have to check it out on my phone and see if I can think of anything. I didnt even think about getting on tripsmarter from my phone, I figured it would be too hard getting to everything

Yeah, it's a pain to navigate traditional websites on a mobile device... even when everything works correctly.

Tripsmarter (like most websites) looks great on the iphone... and pretty good on Blackberry and others.... but you have to zoom to read the text and zoom to navigate making it a pain.

The mobile flavor of Tripsmarter will have larger text, simpler navigation and easy access to the important stuff.

Spring Break content will be our first priority since students and their age group use mobile the most.

this is an AWSOME idea. i have windows mobile 6 on mine so i CAN get to the site but it displays funky so a mobile version would be prefered, one thing i would enjoy with the sb channel would be that mobile internet explorer can handle it (it wont play flash videos) or maybe see about getting beach TV put on the channel list of the "MobiTV" app. also maybe we could get a spring break IRC chat room going. maybe set up our inboxes on here so i could have it hooked up to microsoft outlook mobile. also maybe when march gets closer we could have a "position" field near our user names that we could update from our phone (similar to mood updates?) that way we can keep tabs on where everyone is hanging out if we want to meet up. maybe some of that is a tall order but YOU ASKED! lol

on a related note, i remember last year you guys were streaming live from the tripsmarter party. this year i was going to do nightly video blogs but i was wondering how hard it would be for you guys to set up a direct stream that i could hook into here. if its alot of work dont worry about it, i can use Ustream i think, and link to that from here.

We can set it up. You'll just have to be careful about content - we might need to put a disclaimer on it or something Send me your ideas on what you'll broadcast when you have everything put together.

haha CHALLENGE! i must say Dlee and CT are worthy opponents, but having had alcohol poisioning 2 years running i think i am uniquely qualified to pwn those noobs. let the games begin!
