Here's what MTV is agreeing to bring to PCB this year:

"On-site presence over a 10-day period during Spring Break, in March 2009. Production
will include a Main Stage featuring four (4) concert days with approximately eight (8) live
acts a well as DJ services for a minimum of four (4) hours per day at the mtvU Spring
Break Village."

sounds like what they did last year, should be cool if its behind boardwalk again. prolly will be since their in bed with studentcity and thats where their HQ is

I want the actual MTV....im tired of this whole mtvU that 5% of us even have a chance to see...Its not advterising a damn thing for panama city beach when normal households dont even get the channel......I could care less about this "presence".....give me a break....make those performers stay up for 45 mins each and actually do work instead of talking and messing around and im down with it

MTV used to do some awesome shows i was never old to view them in flesh as i only started spring break in 06 but they did look awesome

Two mtv shows that I would like to see back during spring break are...Singled Out...And they use to have a show called The Grind they filed in the la vela pool.....Bring em back!!

I remmeber seeing an old one from cancun and they had a metal band playing and a wrestling ring hahah

1988 all the way up to 2001 were the best years for MTV spring break. I remember when MTV spring break used to be on for at least a week straight and all the shows were done on location. Now we got maybe 10 minutes a day for maybe half a week and most of the time it's one lame performance where the audience does most of the singing.
Bring back Singled Out, Dismissed, Jerry Springer, Fear Factor, Grind, Boiling Points, I Bet You Will, etc...

Get rid of this MTVU crap, bring in the real MTV, also bring back Polly Shore, the RHCP's (Flea kicks *****), and well, long story short, tell them to watch old spring break videos from the 90's, and tell the producers to take notes!

I think the problem is that MTV got caught up in their own hype and the producers think that the name sell it all. Someone needs to give them a reality check because they are losing momentum with how much they are slacking. They used to put out original shows that made a huge impact on the college age subculture and addressed very important issues. Now we have The Hills, and Paris Hiltons "Be my New BFF"....

Bring back Pauly Shore.......lol thats funny you said that man....I just partied with him in Dayton this past weekend..He was in town at the Funny Bone comedy club then afterwords came over to this local bar and drank with everyone then we all went to waffle house afterwards....I said something to him about pcb because i remembered seeing a video of him at la vela.....let me tell ya....that guy is still out there in his own world..he was cool, but if he wasn't on something I donno what was wrong with him..def still acting like a 25 year old tho

Wow, I remember seeing Pauly on MTV back in the day!!!! I saw him back when he was in New Jersey in Seaside when MTV used to do summers there!! I also saw him in New York at Carolines about 7 months ago. I would love for him to host the pool party at Lavela this year!!!!!!!!

I remember my first spring break in PCB and it was so different!!!!!!!!!!! Every were was a party!!! I remember we even partied in the parking lots!!!!! The strip was the super club and walmart was the afterparty!!!!!!!! Things have really changed.. Still a great time, but unless you got to experiance it in the late 90's early 00's you missed a lot!!!!!!!

No problem at all, everything I tried to post was pretty much the same stuff i was posting on here. I was just trying to share my opinion with everyone that does not visit tripsmarter..

jseales is right it was crazy back in the day mtvu is dissappointing a bunch of hype for nothing back in the day you had a lot more smaller companies doing promotionsw and it was way better back when you had mxb mag, vivid video,midori and bands like all american rejects played the pool stage at lavela, there was different vip partiesall the time and more better stages on the beach more beach side contest all mtv does is put to many people in a small area for a dissappointing 2 hr waste of time

they should do it like the old mtv spring break more locations, more contests more celebrities and parties targeted at fun for breakers instead of trying to promote upcoming artist who only play 3 songs cause they don't have a full album
if they did it grass roots style like the old days it would be better and bring more people right now its nothing more than a scam and waste of time other than spring break who ever even heard of MTVU
