As someone who has seen MTV from PCB to Cancun, let me tell you MTV does NOT make the spring break experience! Back in the 90's, MTV spring break is amazing. I remember coming home from school and watching it......... but after experiencing SEVERAL first hand........ they dont make much difference in the partying going on! MTV or not, pcb will rock out in 09, that is one thing you can count on!!

I totally agree with this! They say lowest prices, but i have found cheaper and better deals through other sites.

You can find better deals sometimes than they offer, but they will match ANY deal you find that beats theirs! Thats why when I book people, I usually know where the best deals are, and I book people for the lowest prices guaranteed!!

I've been to PCB for spring break 4 out of the last 5 years (some with MTV, some not). I've been way the f*** down the beach, unaware MTV was even there, and right in the middle of the setup, watchin every concert & contest. Its Spring break!!! You're gonna have a blast no matter what! Of course MTV doesn't make you have a better or worse time.

BUUUUTTTTT, I will def say that the years MTV was there always kicked it up another notch. There's something to be said about free meals every day, decent concerts, and nearly twice as many booths on the beach. Last year in my week alone was Lupe Fiasco, Paramore, and Flo Rida!! Each played at least a half dozen songs in their sets and had great stage performance.

C'mon people!! You'd rather have the super clubs throw the concerts??? You have to pay admission, its way overcrowded, and buying drinks sucks. I'd rather enjoy a free concert with the sand between my toes, gorgeous girls in bikinis all around me, and a cooler full of beer on my arm.

The years without MTVu were definitely a blast, but didn't have nearly as many stages or free sh** around. And the more concerts, contests, and free stuff, the more likely the girls are to come out and party during the day!

One of my favorite memories was the '04 Spring Break (MTV) where Taking Back Sunday was performing. One of the guitarists had a break mid song, threw down his guitar, ran off the stage, shotgunned a beer with me (randomly), and jumped back up on stage to finish the song!

I haven't heard anything else about mtv... I was expecting a spring break website from the TDC by now, which would include more info on mtv.... but, maybe they're a little behind schedule?

I have heard of several big name bands already planned for the MTV stage at the Boardwalk, although I am not really suppose to say anything. I dont know how far along they are, in regards to shows/performers. But I do know they have better bands/"rappers" planned. I just hope the weather works out this year for everyone...... regardless, pcb will be rocking for spring break. FAR more students are staying in the states this year rather than going away to places like cancun and acapluco!! So expect the numbers in pcb to be big this year from what I am told!!

I think that's a fair policy. SC is charging almost 500 per night for a six person room at the Boardwalk hotel (the actual hotel), when the hotel itself will quote less than 300. I'd hate to find out that we paid more than we had to for the same room!

That is completely rediculous.....Thats why you never ever ever book through one of those companies....they have to make money somehow....I guess they suck in everyone that doesnt know much about spring break

Prices were pretty crazy compared to direct through owners on vrbo no cheaper way than that your cutting out the middle man who obviously gets commision

One of the ways I think they draw you in is all those freebies and discounts... in the end I just don't think its worth it though

Me either, half of those "freebies and discounts" are usually available to everyone once you get there......you just dont know unless youve gone before

Kinda looking forward to it. i went to cancun mtv and that kind of sucked because it was within a beach club so a huge line to even get to the stage but was ok once inside after id had a few drinks any extra added places to party to mix it up is good in my book.
shame the acts they get down rarely do more than 3-4 songs
