Looks like mtvU will be back for Spring Break 2009. It hasn't officially been approved by the TDC, yet... but the marketing committee approved it and all signs point to TDC approval.

Hope they bring more good bands this year.

Do you guys respond to MTVu? Are those that have made comments correct in their assumptions and professional opinions?

Agreed, Trigger, but do the college kids care if MTV puts on the show, or do they just care that the show itself rocks.

I've been here 5 or 6 times for spring break....and MTV U was prolly there 4 of the times......I really could care less if its mtv putting on the show. Out of all the times they have come, only one time did I actually find myself looking forward to checking them out.....If they had better performers, who actually were good and didnt just do 3 songs and take off.....then I would be all for em. If they still want 25 Mil or whatever the figure was I saw at first....def not worth it

Get us some GOOD acts, that's all you need. Turning this into an all out concert event with a bunch of small bands and a couple big names would be amazing.

yeah MTV means nothing, its about the acts that will be there, and like smitty said, do more than 3 songs. but i could care less if MTV is there or not

Oh yes its not the name MTV that attracts me atall but the band/act they have booked to play.

tell that to student city. a good portion of their marketing is geared towards using the mtv prescence at different locations (party with the real world cast holla)

to be fair if the tourist board is willing to spend 200k to get them down to get bands to play 3 songs then im pretty damn sure if they just set up a stage and paid bands themself to play full proper concert sets people would be much more satisfied and have a vote for the bands people would like to appear.

I think Student City and all those spring break companies are a joke.....they have to over charge people for the trip or they wouldnt make any money..sorry jason im sure u dont like hearing that but I dont see how else they would make a profit

Last year, MTV U was tearing down their stage the day we got there. It looks like they have mass entertainment if you get there before they leave! I hope that they come back or at least throw up an American Eagle stage.
