Bottom line, hotel prices?

I've been looking for hotel prices. I'm planning to go with between 6-8 people, preferable 2 bedrooms, preferably a kitchen.

Summit has a 2 bedroom for $310 a person, and a 1 bedroom (6 people) for $285. Most of what i've seen goes for betwen $250-$350. for the week, per person. Is this pretty standard or are there good places to look for deals?

Also, I keep hearing about this 'party pass' which used to be free if you stayed in the majors like Summit, Boardwalk, etc, but now I see Summit is selling it for $40. Not free anymore?

This will be my first major spring break trip so I'm trying to get the lowdown.

If it's under 300/person/room it's a good deal. Summit has the best location and best parties. However, they have the some of the harshest rules (no kegs, funnels, must wear the wristband at all times) and sometimes the rooms are trashed and the maids don't clean them up very well before you check in.

Boardwalk has the nicest rooms (condos not hotel) and they are way more laid back. Their atmosphere is more low key as opposed to the party central style of the summit. They are walking distance away from most of the super clubs (LaVela, Hammerhead Fred's, Spinnakers), but not as close as summit.

last year i thought the party atmosphere at both hotels was very similar, i stayed for 7 days in each hotel back to back. in fact since the MTV concerts were right in front of us it might even have been better at boardwalk condos. just my thoughts

I'm not too concerned about the bracelet thing.

How easy is it to cram 8 people into a 6 person room if the hotel says it has a 6 person limit? Is that an easy way to get booted?

Looks like you can fit 6 in a Boardwalk 1 bedroom for $270. That's pretty good

boardwalk rooms are ALOT larger than summit, but its not really a problem, most of the time on spring break nobody is sleeping at the same time.

We always fit 8 people in our rooms at the boardwalk..They would only let you check 6 people n so we would go up later on and say we lost our wristbands and pay the extra $10 and get 2 more......

if you rent through VRBO.com the private owners can send you as many wristbands as you need.

Im telling ya, if you arent gonna party in your room there are plenty of other places for half the price in the exact same area.....Yeah they arent as nice as summit or boardwalk but there are in the prime location right between them and u are looking at $100 a person for those condos.....I usually stay at the boardwalk but we are hardly in the room ever....id rather party on the beach and at the clubs

Top of the Gulf and the Moondrifter last year were like $600 for the whole week...They are right by Boardwalk and the Summit and I know Top of the gulf is between them and I think they both actually are.....If you arent gonna be in your room much then why pay more?? I donno thats just the way I look at it.......If I wanna go hang out with people from tripsmarter and they are at the Boardwalk I can just walk over there anyways so......I guess its something to think about

If you are a the Summit or Boardwalk expect to be in the room pregaming a lot. There is about a 3 hour window between when everyone leaves the beach and goes to the club. Last time I checked it only takes 5-10 minutes to get ready to go out if you are a professional like me...

Yeah thats prolly the only time you will actually be in your room.....Im just saying if you wanna go cheap and still be where the action is you could always go that route..We will prolly end up at the Boardwalk again but last year we did the other way and we all paid like $110 a person...
